Wilkinson glanced between us, his brow narrowing when it landed on me. I fought the aggravation that his sudden attention brought but rolled it off per usual.

"Brody, two things." He waved her over to him. "I want you to present your report to the teams heading out to the parks tonight. And I want your report from your interview with Detective James."

"I haven't finished that yet, Sir." Nora's expression fell a little at the request.

"We need to wrap up the damn case, Brody. Scott Clark is dead at the hands of the Canadians, which don't get me wrong, I'm fucking tickled about, but we're facing an inquiry on Friday and your piece is the only thing I don't have in my hands." He stood up. His unusual aggravation with Nora didn't seem to fit the bill. "I want it today."

"Which do you want first?" Nora's shoulders broadened. "For me to present the current report to the teams tonight or the Four Point report?"

"I want them both. Simultaneously." He grumbled, reminding me of Walsh for a fraction of a second.

"Physically impossible, Sir." Nora folded her arms over her chest. Her calm, cool demeanor amused me more than it should. "You will have to choose."

Wilkinson soured and I wasn't sure if he wanted to kill her or laugh.

Taylor hid a smirk and leaned closer to Gordo, pretending to read his screen. Jenson stood idly behind Nora, his cheeks puffed up and brows lifted when he glanced at me. His expression made it more difficult for me to hide my entertainment.

"Fucking fine, Brody. Tonight's case first—Jenson!" Wilkinson shouted and it made Jenson jolt.

"Yessir?"

"You help Brody with her report." He pointed between the two of them then looked back at me. "I want you in the field, Donovan. You're leading charge with Taylor and Roderick. Brody, you're staying here with Jenson."

"Fine with me," I said, shrugging with it.

Again, Nora's gaze flickered to mine and Wilkinson's eyes followed. He said nothing but left the room with all of us standing there.

"What's up his ass today?" asked Nora, glancing between us.

"He tried to reserve agency vehicles by pulling up the Uber app on his phone," said Taylor. "We laughed at him. His dick shrunk. Same shit."

Nora chuckled and made her way over to stand beside me. "Hi," she said, her bottom lip between her teeth for a fraction of a second. "Is it your fault I'm suddenly too busy to sleep?"

"Hey." I smirked, tucking my hands further into my pockets when I shrugged. "Yup. Probably."

"Curse you," she teased, her eyes narrowed despite her smile. "Revenge is imminent."

Taylor and Gordo paid us no mind while Jenson texted someone with his phone in his palms. Roderick, however, looked between us, his brows lifted along with his smile.

"What are you lookin' at, noob?" I frowned at him. "Why are you still sitting here?"

"Where am I supposed to go?" He laughed at me. "Why are you still standing here, Donovan?"

"Hmm." I brushed my thumb over my chin. "We better get to it. I'll assemble the masses. Nora, can you book out conference room D for your presentation? We need the bigger space."

"Sure thing," she nearly chirped, then broke away from me to head over to Jenson. "Let's go get set up."

"Right behind you." Sure enough, Jenson followed her, but never looked up from his phone.

"Roderick, come with me. Gordo, set Taylor up with a flash drive of your shit and make sure you label things. No one speaks code."

"Got it."

I headed out with Roderick on my heels, both of us walking in silence for a few until we entered an empty hall.

"What's with you and Brody?" he asked suddenly, keeping his voice soft.

"What's what with Brody?" I cocked a brow at him.
