Story: Snow Hunted
She looked confused. Of course, she hadn’t heard of it.
“Well, you boys have fun.”
“We plan on it.” I added with a smirk.
With that, Calix and I met Enzo outside.
“What took so long?” Enzo asked, jogging over to us.
“Your girlfriend wanted to know where we were going.” I teased.
“Jace?”
“Hilarious. Scarlet.”
“She’s not my girlfriend. Is that what she said? We just kissed the one time, and it was by accident… kind of.”
They kissed? I felt my head fit to explode, but fortunately, no one else could see since it was already dark out. “Let’s go get some pussy tonight!”
Enzo, Calix, and I arrived at Ruby’s Tavern and the place didn’t look any different from the last time I’d been here. It had been a while, but tonight was much needed. The tavern was an old house that had been transformed into the tavern. It was three stories above ground and remodeled to have three stories below ground, but that was a no-go zone for most- but not for me when I needed a little extra.
The main foyer was decorated in a classic white and black marble decor and housed the one spiral staircase leading upstairs and down. There was a glittery beaded curtain wall that separated the foyer from the tavern part of the house and when you walked through, all you saw was red. The floors and walls were covered in crimson velvet with a few black high top tables scattered around, with black velvet plush chairs in the corner. On the opposite side of the room was a long bar top with a few chairs sitting in front, which is where I was headed.
“Ruby darling.” Enzo said, walking up to her, leaning across the bar to give her a kiss on the cheek.
She smiled and sang his name in her usual melodic tone, adjusting her top to show more of her cleavage.
“So sweet sounding.” He smiled. “Lured anyone to their death lately?”
“Only those that deserved it.” She winked. “I told you, I have put my siren days behind me.”
“You can take the girl out of the siren, but not the siren out of the girl. You are as beautiful as ever and I would follow you anywhere.” Enzo said, kissing her hand.
“Such the charmer you are.” She looked at Calix and me. “What can I do for you fine bunch of men tonight?”
“We need to have a good time.” I said.
“Do you even know what that is?” Enzo chimed.
“Leave him alone.” Calix defended.
I waited for a jab from him, but he didn’t.
“Enzo, I believe is looking for Cana. Gage, here, wants the Gemini’s and I’m looking for whatever you think is best.”
She looked in the air and was silent a moment and then started nodding. “Yes. Cana will be ready soon and the Geminis are just finishing up and for you, dear Calix,” she pressed her hand to his chest. “Your heart is beating strong tonight. You are looking for a challenge. I’d recommend Eloise or Tryx.”
“Surprise me,” he said.
We ordered a few drinks while we waited and took a seat at one of the available tables. I looked at Calix. “Have you ever been with Eloise or Tryx?”
He shook his head, and both Enzo and I started laughing.
“What?”
“Brother, you are going to be in for it tonight. Go ahead and come up with a safe word now… chances are you’ll be using it.”
“I will?”
