Story: Shattered
“We aren’t related, Monica. So, before you go spreading false truths, remember who I am and who you are. I will fucking destroy you faster than the time it takes for you to drop to your knees for a dick.” Xayden nods to Dekker, and he releases her.
At this point, I’m pretty sure my mouth has been open the entire exchange.
They just fucking turned on her in a second, and for what? Me? What the actual fuck is going on?
Monica looks at me and scoffs. She then turns on her heel and runs out of the room. Of course, back to her posse of bad decisions to let them know what transpired here.
“What the fuck was that?” I finally find my voice.
“What do you mean?” Seven tilts his head and frowns.
“You know exactly what I mean. What the hell was that? Why did the three of you just rush to my defense?” I stand up and face them.
“Because she needed to know she can’t mess with you anymore.” Dekker leans against the wall, crossing his arms over his chest.
I let out a chuckle. “Okay, so let me get this straight. You three have left me to the wolves this entire time until now. Andnowis when you decide that you can just step in and defend my honor or whatever bullshit you have in those heads of yours? When I have been bullied, beat up, made fun of, and all the other wonderful things done to me?
“Now is when you three decide to defend me.” I watch as the three of them look at me silently, expressionless. I scoff, “Fuck this.”
Storming out of the room, I run through the house toward the stairs and up them to Seven’s room, where I’ve been sleeping. Then I slam the door behind me and throw myself on the bed.
Am I mad they stuck up for me? Not really, but yes, I am a bit.
I let out a frustrated groan. Should I be mad at them? Maybe not. It’s just that when I needed them, they shunned me and allowed all those terrible things to continue.
I have had no problem sticking up for myself, and I could have told Monica to go fuck a cactus down there, but they didn’t let me.
The door opens, and the three of them file into the room. I tilt my head up and look at the guys as they stand at the edge of the bed.
“What?” I glare at them.
“Are you going to hear us out?” Xayden leans forward, placing his hands on the foot of the bed.
I shrug. “Yeah, I guess I can.”
Xayden lets out a sigh and then walks over to the side of the mattress and sits down. “Look, I first want to tell you how sorry I am, that we are, that we allowed to happen what transpired these past few months.”
I bite my lip and play with the hem of my T-shirt. “Thanks.”
“Now we need you to understand that just because you can, doesn’t mean we want you to have to do it anymore,” Seven jumps in.
“What do you mean?” I frown at him.
He walks over to the other side of the bed and sits down. “We know you can defend yourself, but you shouldn’t have to. In fact, you never should have had to. Had we just stopped it to begin with…” he trails off and I nod to him.
I get it. If they had just stopped it early on, told them to leave me alone, or defended me in any way, I would be living a bully-free life right now.
Well, except for the whole kidnap and fire thing. But I guess one problem at a time.
“We’re sorry, Angel.” Dekker stands at the edge of the bed looking down at me. His eyes piercing through mine.
My heart swells. “Thank you. And I’m sorry, too. For my little outburst.”
“Don’t apologize for that. You have been through a lot in a short amount of time. Mostly because of us. And now with everything else going on…” Xayden frowns, looking down at his hands.
“Have you heard anything?” I ask him about his dad and my mom. He shakes his head.
“All we got was that text message saying they would be away on a vacation for a little while longer,” he sighs.
