Story: Shattered

Her head snaps toward his voice, and she narrows her eyes at him. “The only thing that hurts is the fucking whiplash I just got,” she hisses.
“Okay, but we can go talk to him. Let us handle it.” Seven continues to try and get her to come back and lie down.
She says nothing. Instead, she turns and marches out the door. I turn to look at Seven and see the same thing in his eyes that I’m thinking.
Shit just hit the fucking fan.
Chapter Twenty-Two
AURORA
That fucking motherfucker. What the fuck was that? Did he just walk the fuck out?
“Hey, Rory, how about you just lie back down and rest? You’re hurt.” My head turns toward Seven, who is trying to direct me back to bed. He can go fuck a cactus.
“The only thing that hurts is the fucking whiplash I just got,” I bite back.
“Okay, but we can go talk to him. Let us handle it.” Seven continues rambling nonsense that I couldn’t give two shits about.
Instead, I have unfinished business with my stepbrother. The asshole who threw me up against a wall and sucked the goddamn soul out of me. And then left me fucking high and dry.
He’s your stepbrother.
Yeah, no, very well aware of that. But my lady bits don’t care who he is. They were getting some much-needed attention and then he decided the game was over.
He teased me yet again. Made me look foolish.
Fuck him.
My feet turn and start carrying me toward his door. Without even bothering to knock, I turn the handle and push inside the room.
The door slams against the door stopper, and Xayden looks up from where he was sitting with his head in his hands on his bed. His brows furrow at me and his lips turn down into a scowl.
“What the fuck are you doing in my room?” The intensity in his eyes burn through me.
The shuffle of feet behind me tells me that the other two are now in the room, as well. I hear the door click, and someone lean up against it.
“Are you fucking kidding me? We are far from finished with this, Xayden. What the fuck was that in there?” My arm stretches out and points toward the door, but my eyes never leave his.
“That was me fucking with you.” His tone drips with disgust.
“Really? We are going back to that? We are going to hate me all over again?”
“It was a mistake.” His head drops to his hands again. “Youare a mistake.”
Those words cut through me. My head reels back from the impact of his insult. “Oh. A mistake.” I look back at the other two, whose eyes are wide like fucking saucers.
My head twists back toward Xayden and my lips turn up.
“Well, if we are making mistakes tonight, guess we should add to the shit storm.”
Without warning, I turn around and march toward Seven who’s up against the door. He starts to step away from the exit, thinking I want to leave, but I step in front of him.
My arms stretch out and push him back against the door. Seven opens his mouth to say something, but I pull his head down toward mine. His words are silenced by my lips.
For a moment, he’s tense. He doesn’t kiss me back. But then something in him breaks. His mouth moves against mine. I feelSeven’s hands thread through my hair, and I moan at the touch. His tongue plays with mine as he takes control of the kiss.
“What the fuck, Rory?” I hear Xayden demand from his bed.
