Thethought of having a guy that isn’t aRamostwin in my bed turns my stomach upside down. “Aslong as it’s just that.”
Tyleans over to push my door open and gestures for me to enter. “Afteryou.”
Ifwe were anywhere but here in the same exact bedI’vebeen with the twins,I’dbe able to relax.Tysettles in next to me, big spoon, like that’s the furthest thing from his mind right now as he plants an arm firmly around me.
Hecinches tight, forcing the air out of my lungs, before nuzzling my neck.
Isituate my head on my pillow and stare at the wall covered in band posters.Myfeatures tug downward as my gaze traces the outline of a figure on one poster whereIdon’t remember there being a sixth member.
Then, it moves to the right and disappears into darkness.
“Ty,”Iwhisper.
“Hm?”
Lookingover my shoulder at the window, a shadow passes over it.
Ipull at his arm. “Letme up.”
“What’swrong?”
“Someone’soutside,”Ihiss, rushing toward the window.
Quicklyscanning the darkness,Ifind nothing.
Athin trail of smoke swirls right under my nose.
Ablack candle, barely blown out, stands in the middle of a fresh pile of dirt.
Chapter21
“Who Knew”
–Bloodline
“Babe, wake up.”
Igroan loudly and rub my eyes.Aset of lips with cool metal piercings press against my forehead, my nose, my cheek, kissing my face all over.
WhenIopen my eyes,IfindZaksitting on the bed beside me.Hislong hair falls over the sides of my head as he leans down to kiss me again.
AllIcan see in this hotel room is him.
“Mornin’, sleepyhead.Timeto hit the road,” he says, booping my nose. “You’remakin’ us late again.”
Igroan softly asImove to sit up. “It’syour job to make sureIwake up on time ’cause everyone knowsInever do.”
Hesmirks. “WhatcanIsay,Ienjoy the quiet before waking the beast that is my girlfriend.”
Igasp, he laughs, andIslap his arm. “Ass!Goon, git!”
Ican’t be mad at his impish grin. “Pobrecita!”
Pilinginto the van with the others,Dreehands me an iced coffee without a word.Itake a sip of my favorite coffee order and lean my head against his shoulder asZakclimbs in after me.
Ahand closes over mine and lifts the coffee cup toward my face. “No, ma’am, time to wake up,”Dreechides.
Mylong groan elicits a collective mocking one from the entire van.
