“Butwe’re in a band together.Won’t… won’t that make things kinda weird?”
“Nah, babe.”Thebacks of his fingers brush along my jawline as embers smolder in his eyes. “It’skinda hot, if you ask me.”
Igulp, shivering under his light but suggestive touch and sighing as heat sinks between my thighs.
I’vedaydreamed about the guysIplay with on stage, sure—exceptRobbie, ew, gross!—but dating them?Maybeevendoing itwith them?I’mnot a virgin, butIfeel likeIam all over again atZak’ssuggestion.
Ashaky breath rushes past my lips asIstare deep into glittering pools that wait expectantly for me to say something.
Thesmirk falls away. “I-Ididn’t mean that we’d have to… you know.Ifyou don’t want to.Ifyou’re not ready.”
Oh,God,I’mtotally looking at him likeIam a virgin, aren’tI?
Myhead shakes. “Ijust…Wow.”
Asplit second later,Zakchuckles with a brilliant beam on his face. “So… will you go out with me?”
Myheart stutters before ramping up into overdrive, banging against the walls of my chest like an incredible drum solo. “Y-yeah.Yes!”
Hismouth finds mine again, arms slipping around my waist to pull me close like he never intends on letting go.
Wrappingmy arms around his shoulders, he lifts me from the ground and spins me around with our lips locked.
Igot the band.
Igot the record label deal.
And, now,Igot the hot guitarist boyfriend.
Icould squeal from the excited adrenaline rushing through my veins.
HearingZak’schuckle as he sets me down on my feet, it sounds likeIdid let a celebratory yip out.
“Hey!”
Ijump at the sharp, aggressive bark coming from behind us.Adrianglares daggers in our direction.
“Maybequit sucking each other’s brains out so we can fucking go already.”Hesneers.
“What’syour problem?”Zakquestions.
Adrianshakes his head and stalks off.
Zaksimply shrugs before letting his arms slip from around my waist.Hewraps a warm hand around mine. “Let’sgo home, babe.”
Inthe van, the drive home is tense and weird.
Zak’sthigh presses along the length of mine and he fidgets relentlessly, like he’s doing everything he can to not hold my hand whenI’msitting in between him and my brother, even thoughRobbie’shead is tilted back against the headrest and his eyes are closed.
Shannonsits up front in the passenger seat, happy as a lark and jamming to his favoriteDisturbedsongs blasting through the speakers.
AndAdrianglares at the road, his knuckles pale on the steering wheel.
Whenour gazes meet through the rearview mirror, his brows pull together over a storm brewing in his eyes.
