“Okay,” he echoed, kissing me again. “We’re in this together,ástin mín. For always.”
“For always,” I repeated, smiling. “But don’t think that means I plan to behave.”
He snorted. “Sweetheart, I will never expect you tobehave.I know better.”
“Good.” I nibbled his lower lip. “Want to knot me again?”
A laugh escaped him. “I’ll always want to knot you, but I need some food first, Omega.”
I feigned a pout. “But…”
He nipped at my lower lip and pressed his mouth to my ear. “Patience, Riley.” The words came out in a growl. “I’ll satisfy you once I’ve eaten. Now get dressed.”
I heaved a long, dramatic sigh. “I’m going to have to insult your knot again, aren’t I?”
“Try it and you’ll regret it.”
“Not with your version of punishment,” I murmured.
He smacked my ass hard enough to make me yelp. “Stop torturing me, Omega. I need food.”
I pretended to pout again but went in search of clothes.
All the while, he observed me with hungry eyes.
It was clear that while he might require a meal, I would definitely be dessert.
And I couldn’t wait.
Mine,I thought. This Alpha is all mine.
EPILOGUE
JONAS
Andorra Sector
Ander Cain didn’t smile. He merely stared, his severe presence reminding me of a much more stoic version of his father.
Perhaps it’s his Omega that softens him,I thought, thinking of Ludvig.Or the family he’s created.
Because Ander lacked his father’s warmth.
But he wasn’t cruel or particularly rude. He sat across from Riley and listened as she explained her research and credentials. Something told me he already knew everything she told him now. However, he didn’t interrupt her. Nor did he make her bow or supplicate.
Which was a point in his favor.
Actually, he’d receivedseveralpoints.
He’d met us on the tarmac with his second-in-command—Elias, who sat beside him and therefore across from me at the table—and had led us into a building that had clearly been constructed recently.
Rather than immediately interrogate us, he’d shown us the labs and introduced Riley to Ceres. The two of them had spoken a few times over the phone already, as Andorra Sector’s technology capabilities were compatible with those of Blood Sector.
Although, Blood Sector was arguably more futuristic in nature. Which was par for the course, considering the mystical essence of the beings who lived there.
Still, Andorra Sector held a certain appeal that I couldn’t deny. Not just because of the leadership, but because of the general aura and appearance.
I felt comfortable here.
