After Cillian rushes out of my office when his phone rings like the devil himself is chasing him, Grace turns to me, buries her face in my chest, and sobs.
“Shh, Mo chroí.”
(my heart.) I coo to her as I hold her to me while kissing the top of her head.
She looks up at me. “Have we failed him?”
“No, mo chroí, Meredith scared him and he is afraid of opening himself up.”
“I never liked that vile woman; I know she is Neal’s sister, but she was an evil woman. She had no heart, just a black hole in her chest. I have no idea how she was related to Neal when he is such a sweet man.”
“I know mo chroí, we tried to warn him to divorce her many times, but you know your son, once he agrees to something he will see it through. That’s why I have no doubt he will turn his attitude around with Bia.”
“Yeah, but do you think being around him is the best thing for her right now?”
“Not sure, but I know someone who would be able guide us. Let me make a phone call.”
Cillian
After I get myself together, I went straight to see Dillion. I sit in front of his grave and talk to him.
“Hi, my cub leon beag. (little lion cub) Sorry Daidí hasn’t been by recently. I promise I won’t go so long again before coming to see you next time. I need you to do Daidí a big favor, your younger brother is up there with you. Keep an eye on him for me until I can join you. I miss you every day, cub beag, (little cub) I hope your Mammy is better. She was really sick, but I’m now married to a sweet woman. I know she would have loved you and your younger brother so much. Your Daidí was really mean to her, and I have a lot of work to do to prove how sorry I am. Your younger brother doesn’t have a name yet. What do you think his name should be?”
I quietly listen as the breeze blows through the air. He needs a good strong name, but something that also shows Bia’s soft side, her brightness that she carries with her. I pull my phone out and start searching for strong names that would fit that description. Brady, no, Brian, no, Cian, no, Eoin, definitely not, I keep scrolling, reading each name meaning and each one I don’t like until I get to Lucas, which means to shine. Lucas is also from the Greek name, Loukas, which means bringer of light.
Lucas O’Sullivan.
It’s perfect or at least for now. Bia gets to make the final call on his name, but I want to be able to call him something not just baby boy.
I kiss Dillion’s gravestone before I leave, telling him how much I love him and that I will be back soon. I head home to try and get a few hours of sleep. I have barely slept the past two days, and I need to be at my best tomorrow with Bia possibly being released, and later today I’ll be moving our stuff into our wing. I’m going to personally pack up her stuff, no one else gets to pack away what is only for my eyes.
My phone rings four hours later. I groan when I look and see I still had another hour until I had to get up, but I immediately become alert when I see it’s the hospital calling.
Cillian: Hello?
Nurse: Mr. O’Sullivan, we need you to come in as soon as possible. There has been a situation.
Cillian: A situation? Is Bia ok?
Nurse: I can’t tell you anything over the phone.
Cillian: Just tell me if Bia is okay!
Nurse: I can’t tell you over the phone.
Cillian: I’m on my way now.
I end the call and rush out the door. Please don’t let Bia be hurt. Please.
The whole way to the hospital I’m hoping and praying, she is okay.
When I get to the psych ward, there is security, police, and the owner of the hospital. Fuck, this can’t be good.
The owner sees me and walks toward me. “Mr. O’Sullivan, if you would follow me, I would like to talk to you.”
“Where is Bia?” I demand.
“That is what I would like to talk to you about.”
I nod and follow him to a private office, the moment my ass hits the seat I’m already demanding answers.
“Where is Bia?”
“She is missing.”
“Missing?”
“Yes, we had an incident this morning and when a nurse went to check on all the patients, Mrs. O’Sullivan was no longer in her room.”
“How long ago was this?”
“Umm about two hours ago.”
“Why the fuck am I only finding out about this now thirty minutes ago?”
“Well, we were hoping to find her.”
“That didn’t fucking happen, did it?”
I snap, pulling my phone out to call Brendan. I don’t bother to let him answer. I just bark into the phone, “Get your ass to the hospital now.”
I glare at the owner and demand, “What was the incident this morning?”
“The psych ward was gassed through the vents, and everyone fell unconscious.”
I nod and stand. “I have my people coming to handle this.”
“This is my hospital.”
I walk over to him and force him to his feet with his collar.
“And it’s my wife missing, you know the rumors that surround my name. DO. NOT. CROSS. ME.”
I drop him and slam the door behind me. I call Daidí and tell him I need all hands on deck because Bia is missing from the hospital. He tells me he will gather everyone.
I pace the lobby while I wait for everyone to show up and within an hour there are over twenty of my father’s men and our family here. We all go in the board room, and I give them all a brief description of what happened, including me fucking up which I get plenty of glares for, especially from Kayleigh. I know she is going to chew my ass out. She has grown a backbone since becoming friends with Emilia.
Daidí gives everyone an assignment; I start on mine, which is tracking down Tristan. That motherfucker was going to be brought in anyway to be killed. He just sped up the process.
When I get to my car, I see Leonidas leaning against it. He stands when he sees me approaching.
“Give me one reason I shouldn’t put a bullet in your head?”
“You should but you will have to wait on that, I need to go find the son of bitch who may have kidnapped Bia.”
“What the fuck? What happened?”
“Bia was in the psych ward when it was gassed, and someone kidnapped her. I’m going to see if the rapist bastard had anything to do with it.”
“Why the hell was she is in the psych ward?”
“She attempted to overdose after she was brought in to the hospital.”
“Holy fucking shit. I’m seriously wanting to kill you right now. What can I do to help?”
“You can join me if you want or go back to my family’s mansion. Not many will be there because we are all hands on deck to find Bia.”
“I’ll join you, at least I can fuck up one of the fuckers I need to.”
He says opening the passenger door. This is going to be a lot of fun…Not.
I drive to one of Tristan’s penthouses and when security tries to deny me access, Leonidas puts his gun to his head.
“You give us access, or you don’t get to go home tonight.”
The guard quickly gives us access, I walked into the penthouse and call his name.
“TRISTAN!”
I hear scurrying and see him run out in a pair of boxers with his cock standing to attention.
“Did we disturb you?”
“Yeah, you did. What do you want, Cillian?”
I pull my gun out and aim it at him. He puts his hands up,
“Whoa! Whoa! Put that down.”
“Party is over. Tell your guest to leave.”
“Tally, go home,”
he yells back at the bedroom. I move and stand right behind Tristan, digging my gun into his lower back.
“QUICKLY!”
I shout, thirty seconds later a disheveled woman walks from his bedroom.
“Tristan, what’s going on?”
“Nothing, you need to go home.”
“Oh okay. Call me.”
I snicker, he won’t be able to make phone calls where he is going. Once the doors close behind her, I push him a few steps in the direction of Leonidas and walk around to the front of Tristan.
“Do you know who he is?”
I ask Tristan. He shakes his head.
“That is Bia’s brother. He is the heir to the Greek Mafia. We are both aware you have been raping her for months and how you killed my son. Tell me where she is.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Bia is missing from the hospital. You worked at the hospital for years and could easily get away with it.”
“I haven’t seen that ice cold bitch since a few days ago.”
“Are you saying you haven’t seen her since you brutally beat her and killed my son?”
He attempts to take a step backward, but I raise my gun. “Take another step and I’ll shoot you. I rather not shoot you in your penthouse. It will raise a lot of unnecessary questions.”
“You can’t kill me.”
“I can’t?”
He shakes his head.
“People will notice I’m missing.”
“Who? Your soon to-be-ex-wife? I doubt she will care; your parents know better than to cross my family, you have no job, and the few friends you have left will disappear once they find out what a monster you.”
“How dare you ruin me, I’m a respected doctor.”
“Were a respected doctor. Now get fucking dressed, we will have to get the answers out of you later.”
He looks at both of us and realizes he has no choice. I follow him into the bedroom, not giving him a chance to call for help not that it would do any good but I’m not in the mood to get people to shut up today.
He quickly gets dressed and he keeps up the appearance that everything is okay as we walk through the lobby. Once inside the garage, we knock him out and stuff him in the trunk of my car before we go back to my family’s mansion.
