Cillian

I’m startled awake when I hear people talking and my bedroom door being opened. I immediately grab my gun and point it at the door.

“Whoa! Cillian, put that down. You don’t need to point that thing at us,”

Sophia, Bia’s bitch of a mother says. I lower my gun.

“What are you doing here?”

“We came to see if Bia is still a virgin.”

“Excuse me? You are here to see if she is a virgin? Do you not remember when she collapsed at the reception last night?”

Sophia waves her hand at me, “She is just a light weight but at least she didn’t fight you.”

“Do you really think I would fuck her when she isn’t conscious?”

“She was out all night?”

“Yes, she didn’t come to until early this morning.”

“Pathetic. Such a light weight.”

“You have no concern about Bia’s wellbeing after you fucking poisoned her?”

“She has a duty. A duty she obviously failed. Now move aside, we need to check.”

I raise my arm, “Take one more step toward her and your family will be hosting a funeral next week.”

“How dare you?”

“How dare I what? Stop you from abusing my wife? And who the hell are you?”

I ask the older man that has been silently standing behind Sophia along with Ares and Theodore.

“My name is Alexandros Galanis, I’m the Vasileious’s doctor.”

“You’re the sick motherfucker who thinks he can put his hands inside of my wife?”

“She needs to be checked.”

“Whether Bia is or isn’t a virgin is no longer your concern. She is my wife now and my responsibility, not yours. She is an O’Sullivan not a Vasileious.”

“I need to do it, so if you could kindly move out of the way.”

“Absolutely not!”

“It’s our tradition,”

Sophia whines.

“Fuck your tradition. I will not let you do that to Bia.”

I say as I raise my gun and aim at the doctor's head before pulling the trigger. The Vasileious’s stare at the dead doctor on the floor before glaring at me.

“Are you denying us our traditions that have been passed down for generations?”

Xander asks.

“Yes, I fucking am, especially since they are barbaric.”

“You will not stop us,”

Xander states.

“Any of you take another step in her direction and you will be leaving in a body bag just like your doctor. Now get the fuck out. Xander be in my father’s office in thirty minutes.”

They don’t move but their eyes go to Bia and then to me. Like they want to see if I’m bluffing. I let out a warning shot at their feet that has Bia jumping in shock.

“I leave if I were you. That was your last warning, the next won’t be a warning. It will be a kill shot.”

They all quickly scurry out of the room like the cockroaches they are. I turn back to Bia once I hear the door click closed behind them.

“Sorry about that, are you okay?”

“Uh…yes. Thank you.”

“How much did you hear?”

“All of it,”

she says quietly.

“Did you know about that?”

“No, they said I had to fulfill my duties, but I figured they’d ask about the bloody sheets. I never imagined they would do that, but I’m not surprised.”

“Okay, how are you feeling?”

“Better.”

“Dizzy? Headache?”

“No, I’m okay.”

“Okay, good. Go ahead and clean up, I have to meet with your fucking Grandfather soon.”

She nods as she gets up and makes her way to the bathroom. I wait until I hear the shower turn on before I text my father about an emergency meeting. Then I call for someone to come get rid of the dead doctor on my floor.

Thirty minutes later, I’m helping Bia into a chair in Father’s office. I stand behind her with my arms crossed over my chest as I glare at Xander. The moment Father walks into the office, he is at Bia’s side, checking on her. Asking her how she is feeling.

“The only reason you are alive is because you are Bia’s Grandfather,”

I say, glaring at Xander.

“Whoa! What happened?”

Father asks.

“Did you know they drug the brides the night of their wedding, so they are more compliant for the groom?”

“What?”

“Yeah, and then, this morning when Bia was still not feeling well after yesterday, Xander and his sick perverted posse decided to try and check if Bia was still a virgin.”

“They wanted to collect the bloody sheets?”

Father asks.

“No, they wanted to give her an examination,”

I tell him. My father’s face goes red and he gives Xander the same look I have been giving him.

“Bia, do you want them to examine you?”

Father asks her softly.

“No, I do not.”

“That settles it. Bia will not be forced to be examined,”

Father says.

“It’s or tradition, we need to see if she is a virgin,”

Xander exclaims.

“She is still pure. I would not fuck her after she was drugged and with the bruises from where she was attacked before our wedding,”

I say glaring at Xander.

He has the audacity to look smug.

“Well, knowing Bia she probably deserved it. She isn’t as sweet and innocent as she seems.”

Bia whimpers as he quickly stands up. He starts to move toward Bia but I move around the chair and grab his throat, shoving him against the wall.

“The only reason you are not dead for what you have done to Bia is because you are her Grandfather. Make no mistake, you hurt her again, it will not matter if you are her Grandfather. I will kill you in the most painful way imaginable.”

I snarl in his face; I ignoring the hands that are trying to pull me off him.

“Do you understand me, old fucker?”

“Did you fall for her little miss innocent act? Poor, stupid Cillian,”

he mocks me. With my other arm I punch him in the nose.

“CILLIAN! ENOUGH!”

Father shouts at me as he yanks me away from Xander.

“Xander, we know what you did to Bia yesterday. Bia is family, you attacked an O’Sullivan which means war. The deal we had is done.”

I hear Bia whimper I keep my attention on Xander, waiting for the next moment I can land another punch on this assholes face.

“Bia will stay married to Cillian because obviously she isn’t safe with your family, and we actually love her. Something she never got in the past, but you will not get another jewel from us.”

“No. If you aren’t holding up your part of the deal then you don’t get to keep Bia. She is only alive only because of the benefits we can get from her husband.”

“What the fuck is wrong with you?”

Father bellows.

“Get the fuck off my property. You have an hour to be gone or we will shoot each and every one of you,”

Father yells. Xander glares at my father, then me, before giving Bia the harshest glare. She shrinks back in the chair and shivers.

I have had enough of this; I grab him by the collar of his shirt and physically toss him out of the room. I watch as he grimaces when his body slams into the ground.

“Time’s ticking, Xander. I would hurry if I were you. If you don’t, I will personally be the one to pull the trigger to end your pathetic life,”

I sneer at him, and the rest of his posse scurries out of my father’s office behind him. They help Xander off the floor, and Xander brushes his hands on his suit pants. He turns to me, “You and your father will regret this.”

I don’t say anything, I just stand outside the office door, blocking them from getting to Bia.

He realizes that I’m not going to respond, as I just glare at them. They eventually walk away with a few of our guards, and I remain where I am until I can no longer see them.

Bia barely ate anything during breakfast, obviously she was still shaken from everything that happened in Father’s office. I decide to take her away from my family who are hovering around her and fussing over her.

It was time that I brought her to her penthouse. I keep glancing at her from the corner of my eye. She daintily sits in the passenger seat with her hands folded in her lap while she looks out the window.

Poor little lamb has gone from one hell to another. Do I feel bad she has been treated like shit her whole life? Yes, I do, but does that mean I will start spending time with her? No

She will play the role of my wife in public or when we are around my family.

She knows her role.

It takes us another twenty minutes to get to the penthouse. Bia follows me into the elevator. “This is the private elevator it only goes to your penthouse and the public elevator can’t get access to your penthouse.”

“Okay,”

she whispers.

“Here is the card for the elevator, don’t lose it.”

She nods and blankly stares at the elevator doors as we ride up the eighty-six floors to the penthouse.

Bia gasps when the doors open, and she gets her first glimpse inside her penthouse. I guid her inside and we walk into the kitchen where the keys were to be left.

“Here is the key for your car, it is down in the garage parked in your spot the receptionist can show you where it is. Here is your bank card, it should have more than enough to keep you busy. I don’t care what you do but do not do anything to embarrass the family and take your guards with you the moment you step out of your penthouse.”

“My penthouse?”

“Yes, this is your penthouse and I have my penthouse. We may be married but it is name only.”

I walk away but stop and face her one more time.

“I will let you know if I need you for an event, and you can do anything besides having a man on the side. Shop, work, go to school I don’t care what you do as long as you stay out of my life.”

I see the heartbroken look on her face but instead of going to her like a caring husband should, I walk out of her penthouse.
