Asher

As soon as the door to my hotel room shuts, I’m pressing her into the wall, kissing her. She came here for me. Because she didn’t want to spend the night without me. Because she wanted to remember the good times we had here.

My cock dances against the fly of my pants. I slowly shift my hips from side to side, pressing into her so she can feel what she does to me. When my hands land on her hair, she pulls away, a look of distaste on her face. I sigh. She’s still not over it.

She points to the bathroom. “I’m not doing anything with you until you wash your hands and change your clothes. You crawled on a public bathroom floor. It’s disgusting.”

I laugh, happy that’s her one and only reservation.

On my way to the bathroom, I strip out of my clothes, leaving a trail on the floor.

After washing my hands, I go back in the room, but I don’t put on new clothes.

I stand completely naked, dick hardening even more when I say, “Let’s watch a movie. ”

She looks me up and down, from head to naked toe, then back at my face. “You want to watch TV?”

I retrieve my phone from the front pocket of my pants. “Not TV.”

Walking to the bed, I pull up one of our videos and pat the mattress next to me.

She sits and looks at my screen, her jaw falling open. “You want to watch this ?”

“I want you to watch this.” I run the slider across the screen to fast forward to the exact place I’m looking for. Then I hand it to her. “See how I looked at you? I loved you even then.”

She watches silently, her breaths becoming quick and audible the more she sees.

I slip behind her and wrap my arms around her. “Never question how I feel about you. I’m yours, Allie. Lock, stock, and barrel.”

I kiss her neck, but she shrugs me off. “Wait. I want to see the ending.”

I watch over her shoulder as she orgasms on top of me, me following right behind her. I’ve watched our videos more times than I care to admit. Mostly because I missed her when we were apart. But through all those viewings, I’ve come to learn one thing: she looked at me the same way I looked at her.

“You loved me too,” I say when it’s over. “You just didn’t know it yet.”

She tosses my phone aside and spins around in my arms. “It must be your advanced years that makes you so cocky.”

I laugh. “Cocky? Or wise?” I guide her flat onto the bed and remove her top, still stunned every time I get to touch her growing breasts. “Either way, this dirty old man is about to do unspeakable things to you.”

She moans when I lightly pinch a nipple. “Please.”

My mouth is on her left breast before the entire word is out of her mouth.

I suck and tease and even nip her a little.

Her eyes close as she breathily says my name.

I work a hand over her jeans, pressing my fingers against the seam running over her clit.

This is all it takes to send her spiraling into orgasm.

“Fuck,” I say in awe as she crumbles beneath me.

“One of the benefits of pregnancy,” she says giggling when she stops shaking.

I lower the front panel of her maternity jeans and kiss her stomach. “Just how long will we be able to do this?”

“I suppose as long as I’m comfortable and can—”

Her hands go to her belly.

“What is it?” I ask, concerned.

She takes my hand and presses it against the left side of her stomach. “Can you feel that?”

I realize what’s happening and my eyes go wide with anticipation as I muster every ounce of concentration. When I feel a small flutter under her skin, I gasp.

“Did you feel it?” she asks.

I can’t respond. All I can do is wait for more.

I put my other hand on her and lean close.

It happens again. My heart is stuck so far up my throat I don’t think I can speak.

I need more. Feeling my child or children moving inside her has to be one of the most incredible things I’ve ever experienced.

I don’t want to move. I don’t want to eat, sleep, or work ever again, I just want to lie here and feel the life inside her.

“Ash?”

“Shh.”

She giggles. Then the movement abates, making me sad.

“Asher, we—”

“I’m not moving. I need to feel it again.”

“You know… I think it was the orgasm that brought it on.”

I lift my head to look at her. “Really?”

She nods. “So maybe if we—”

Before she can finish that sentence, her shoes are on the floor along with her jeans and panties. I crawl on top of her, careful not to put weight on her stomach. “Sweetheart, be prepared to go for the record. Because if they move every time you come, you’re going to come all night long.”

She laughs and pulls my head toward hers. “This night is turning out far better than expected.”

I’m sure we both have bags under our eyes when we hit the hotel restaurant for breakfast. I insisted on not getting room service.

If we’d stayed there a minute longer, I’d have had her naked and under me again.

Last night was amazing. Between making her come as many times as I did, and feeling the babies, it was definitely the best night we’ve spent together.

Which is kind of surprising considering how the night started.

I wave over Rich and Arjun when I see them enter the restaurant.

“Allie Montana, meet Rich Jennings and Arjun Bhandari. Gentlemen, please join us.”

Rich takes the seat across from me. “I can see why Asher didn’t want to go a single day without seeing you. Nice to finally meet you, Allie.”

“Actually,” Allie says. “I’m the one who crashed his party. I hope it’s okay. If you need to talk about work, I can go.”

“There will be plenty of time for that,” Arjun says, extending his hand to her. “You wouldn’t happen to have any sisters, would you?”

Allie blushes. “Sorry. I’m the only girl of my parents’ four children.”

“Three brothers,” Rich says in amusement. He turns to Asher. “And you’re still alive?”

We’re all sharing a laugh when Stella walks into the restaurant.

A man is with her. I guess her husband’s flight arrived.

Allie doesn’t fail to notice. She tenses, but all Stella does is offer me a sad smile.

She and Jeffrey stroll right past us as if he has no idea who I am. Maybe she didn’t even tell him.

They take a seat somewhere behind me. I never look back at her. She’s my past. The woman sitting next to me is my future.

Thirty minutes later, I escort Allie to the train station.

“Do you expect me to take your name?” she asks.

I cock my head. “That kind of came out of nowhere.”

“What you said to the doorman last night about us being Mr. and Mrs. Anderson. Is that what you want?”

A slow roll of air leaves my body through my nose. “Of course it’s what I want, Al. But I know keeping the name of your family business means a lot to you. How about we compromise? You be Allie Montana at work, but Allie Anderson everywhere else, especially in our bed.”

She bites her lip in contemplation. “I think that could be arranged.”

I’m jumping for joy inside. She’s thinking ahead. I step close and put my lips to her ear. “Thinking about marrying me, eh?”

She brushes away the tickle. “I do think about it, Asher. I think about it all the time. But we still have hurdles to overcome.”

“One hurdle,” I say holding up a finger. “One.”

“It’s a pretty big one.”

“Allie, we’ve been in Calloway Creek less than a week. Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

Her lungs expel a harsh sigh. “No. It took about eight hundred years. I know. I wrote a paper on it in high school. So if you’re trying to make me feel better, that’s a horrible analogy.”

I’m trying not to laugh, but it’s hard. “Sweetheart, it’ll happen. You and Bug will find your groove. Whether it’s her seeing you as a mother figure or just a friend, I truly believe she’s going to accept you.”

“And if she doesn’t?”

“She will.”

“Just humor me. If she never accepts me. Then what?”

I shrug. “I guess she’ll go off to college in a little over four years.”

I cover my face with my hands. “Oh, god.”

He takes my hands off my face and kisses them. “It’s not going to come to that. We’re going to find a way for all of us to live together peacefully.”

“I hope you’re right.”

“I’m right.” I kiss her temple. “Listen to me. I’m older and wiser.” I point. “There’s your train. Today will be a long day, and I’ll be home late. But I’ll be home. I promise.”

It’s a promise I intend to keep. Even if we’re not done with the job and I work until midnight, I’m going home to her. I never want her to have a reason to doubt me. And I intend on keeping every single promise I make to her. Especially the one that has her becoming my wife.
