“We are done.” Logan growled.
Brooklyn nodded and Logan waited, as if expecting her to argue. But she didn’t. She simply dragged her arms from their enforced position and lay them on the bed beside her, letting her legs drop away.
She didn’t want him either, now. No one got to treat her like that and not explain.
Brooklyn wouldn’t ask him why. It was obvious.
Fuck you for being a fucking human.
After what she was doing for his race and telling her he didn’t care that she was human anymore. What a liar. What a cruel and horrible male he was.
“Get out,” she said.
Logan slid out of her and climbed off the bed.
“Get out!” she screamed.
Logan seemed unaffected by her response as he ripped some tissues out of the box and wiped his cock. Then he tossed them into the trash can and tucked himself away.
Without looking, he picked up his bag and walked out.
Brooklyn waited thirty seconds, then rolled onto her side and burst into tears.
She had no one to blame. She’d wanted him to fuck her. Begged him, even. Her heart was hurting, but she didn’t regret it. It might not have been a very nice goodbye. But at least they had one.
Once all her tears had fallen, Brooklyn climbed off the bed and found her bag. She unpacked a few things and then stepped under the shower.
It wasn’t fair of him to put all the wrongs done by her race onto her. But then again, maybe she deserved it.
After all, she was a murderer. Brad’s little face appeared before her, as it always did when guilt returned.
Life continued to punish her.
And she just had to take it.
Maybe tomorrow was the turning point. Then she could get on with her life.
And forget Logan Mathieson.
I DID NOT PLAN THAT.
Logan paced his room, feeling like a complete and utter fucking asshole.
He was.
He’d fucked Brooklyn like she was nothing more than a common whore. But his feelings for her were pushing up against his beliefs.
He hated the BioZen scientists.
He had to hate her.
Didn’t he?
Get out!
So why were her pain-filled eyes haunting him and what was this crushing feeling in his chest?
Logan had a quick shower and changed then headed downstairs to meet the other warriors. It was better he stay focused and work than dwell on what he couldn’t change.
