And a lot of patience and compromise on your part, London,” Sonya says. “But before we get into the expectations of dating someone with ADHD, I will first need you, London, to tell Trueman what’sthedeal breaker for you? Because hewillmake mistakes, and hewillbe asking for your forgiveness, a lot. So, what is the one thing you willneverforgive? What will bethe endfor you?”

Well, shit. No need to even think about it. His biggest flaw is my will-never-forgive deal breaker. I can’t meet his eyes as I answer, “Infidelity.”

His fingers tighten around mine, as if he’s afraid I’ll leave.

“Trueman?” Sonya says. “Did you hear that?”

He jerks his head in acknowledgment.

“Do you understand that this is the area where you’ll need to work the absolute hardest if you want to keep London in your life?”

Instead of answering her, True leans over and takes my chin in his grasp. “I’m committed to you. Only you. And I promise to work really fucking hard to make you happy. Not hurt you. Never hurt you.”

He’s so earnest. My heart breaks and flutters all at once. And I know,I knowhe’ll do whatever it takes to make us work.

“Tell me you believe me, London.”

I love you. So damn much. “I believe you.”

Sonya has aflight to catch, so our session doesn’t last long. This was just a precursor for her to see us together and how we communicate, to determine if she wants to work with us.

In the end, she decided we’re worth her time. That she’s seen what she needed to: two people fiercely in love with each other and willing to put in the work.

We’ve agreed to have bi-weekly sessions until we don’t need her anymore.

When she bids us adieu, True closes the door behind her and leans back against it with a long, audible exhale. It’s evident that it’s taking a lot out of him to do this.

He flicks his gaze to mine. “So…?”

In mock contemplation, I tap my finger against my chin. “So…does this mean you’re my ‘boyfriend’ now?”

“This means I’m yourman.” He pushes away from the door and stalks toward me. “This means you’re my woman.”

“Hmm. You know what real men do to their women?”

His eyes narrow. “What?”

“Give them mind-blowing orgasms.”

“That’s all you’re really staying with me for, aren’t you?”

“It’s definitely not for your looks.” I shrug. “You should be glad you’re good for something.”

A squeal flies from me when he scoops me up from the chair.

“This fucking mouth of yours,” he growls.

“In due time.” He takes me to the bed. “We need to get back to the reception.” He reclines me on the bed and pushes up my dress. “But first….” He pulls my panties down my legs, parts my thighs….

And then his mouth is on me.
