Page 126 of The True Garza
“Maybe I planned on staying here a few days.”
He snorts at that. “And miss out on stalking your ex? Doubt it.”
Ex. That’s what they’ve been calling her. But in order to be my ex, she’d first need to be my woman. She never was. To her, I was just a fuck. A fluffer while she waited for Prince Charming.
Fuck her and her lying ass.
And still, I toss him the keys and hop right into the SUV; because, as much as I resent her, Guy’s right. If I don’t glimpse her at least once a day, I don’t sleep well at night. And a sleep-deprived True Garza equals two Trent Garzas. People expect vibrancy and antics when I’m around. And when there’s none of that, moods shift, worrying begins, and a whole domino effect of shit ensues.
London is the order to my chaos. My focus. My moon—the golden light that brightens my dark nights. Without her, I’m worse off than before I met her. I’m madness and rage and jitters. Being around her balances me. Calms me. Fills me with peace and fearless vulnerability.
I need her.
I fuckingneedher.
But I can’t have her. ’Cause I’ll fuck her up. There’s no chance. I’m choosing not to be selfish this time. She deserves happiness. And with me, she’ll only know heartbreak. As soon as I’m able to accept thatfactand stop this endless, excruciating fucking pain in my chest, I’ll be able to move on and get back to the old me. I just wish the “acceptance” phase would get here a lot goddamn faster.
Guy settles in behind the wheel and fires up the engine. “Whatever happened back there, does it make you feel any better?”
“Nope.”
“I could’ve told you that,” he says matter-of-factly. “Many have tried, for centuries. But blood-spilling never mends a broken heart.”
“My heart’s not fucking broken. What’s wrong with all of you and this bullshit?”
He hits the gas and peels out. “And that’s your problem right there.”
“What?”
“You’re spinning out, True. Haven’t been yourself. Acting completely out of character. Because you’d rather do literally anything else than admit the truth.”
“And what, pray tell, is the ‘truth,’Guy?”
“You’re in love with her.” He lets out a long-suffering sigh, flicking me a glance. “That’s the truth. No need to fight it. If love can happen to Torin Garza, it can happen to anyone.”

London:Fuck U Mean - Dexta Daps.mp3 file attached.
London: Hey, can you translate the lyrics in the song above? True sent it to me last night. And then he apologized and said it was an accident.
Jules: OK. Playing it now.
Jules:All right I just listened. But I could only understand a few lines. Let me send it to Lexi and get her take, she knows more patois than I do.
Notification:Lexi Garza wants to add you to Gal Gang.

*Accept*
Lexi: Hey gals, I know this artist and most of his songs because Tripp is almost always playing his music. I’ll just say, it’s not a love song. It’s extremely crude.
London: What’s the gist?
Lexi:Well… he misses fucking you. You’re on his mind. And your vajayjay makes him want to stop being a manwhore.
Jules:Yikes.
