Her breath hitches, and I swear I hear a quiet whimper pass her lips. I smile.
Be afraid, little one. I’m going to break you.
“So, your coffee?” she asks, her chest rising and falling in rapid succession. She’s staring into my eyes, and hers gloss over a little more. The dark brown is almost onyx.I know that look well. She wants more than she’s trying hard not to show. It’s a shame her poker face sucks.
“I take it with cream and two sugars. Nothing fancy, no special flavors or mix-ins.” I lick my lips, and she breaks eye contact with me to pull out her phone and take notes.
“What about your morning routine? I’ll need to know what you require before we get to set, and then, of course, when we’re there. I understand I’m basically a gopher, but is there anything in particular you want or that I should know about?”
I walk around her, stalking my prey. She fidgets under my gaze, and I take a seat on the bed, leaning back, spreading my legs. She peeks at me from under her lashes and blushes again. I know she can see the outline through my shorts when she licks her lips and glances down quickly.
“How long have you known Emily?”
“A few years. She and I are roommates now. Why?”
I rub my jaw and assess her more. “You seem familiar. Have we met before?”
“I, um, I was an extra on the set ofThe Emblem. That’s where Emily and I met. She was your assistant, and the two of us bonded between takes.”
I squint my eyes at her. “Did we sleep together?”
She snaps her head up, looking at me face-on. “No! If we did, Idefinitelywouldn’t be here.”
I shrug. “When I’m not on set, I like to have water close by. I expect you to be able to keep up with my schedule while we are here. I need to make sure to keep up with my… workouts.” I pause and smile at her, watching for a sign she picked up on the double entendre. “Think you’re up for the job?”
Annoyance crosses her features. “I’m sure I’m competent enough to keep a schedule. What time do you like to get your workouts in? I’ll set up a reminder in my calendar.”
Oh, little girl, I want you to be my workouts.“I don’t like to schedule them, per se. They just seem to happen. Usually kind of late—or early, depending on how you want to look at it.”
The moment she realizes what my workouts are, she scrunches her face in disgust. “Can I ask something?”
“Depends on what it is, lass.”
“Do you talk to Emily like this? Is this normal for you?”
“Yes, and yes. And before you ask, no, I haven’t been hit with a lawsuit. Emily and I joke like this all the time. You need to learn to lighten up; otherwise, we’re in for a long month, lass.”
“Sam. I’d prefer it if you call me Sam. I’m here to do a job, Mr. Flanigan, and I expect you to treat me with respect. You can get laid on your own time.” I watch the brisk rise and fall of her chest as her face flushes.Have I made you angry, little one?
I stand, taking a few steps closer until I tower over her. She tilts her head up so she can look at me. “Call me Tait. I look forward to working with you, Sam.” I turn away and stroll toward the balcony, sliding the door open. Keeping my back to her, I say, “I’ll meet you downstairs tomorrow morning, and we can head to set together. Please bring coffee with you.”
I don’t need her to know how much she is affecting me. Giving her the brush off is the easiest option. I hear her sigh behind me and mumble a goodbye, but I don’t bother turning around.
The door closes quietly behind her, and I palm my aching cock.Down, boy.Never have I wanted someone I’ve just met so badly that I couldn’t have. That’s because no one has ever said no before.Looks like I’ve just found my new challenge. Iwillfind out what makes that girl moan, even if I have to beg to find out.
Chapter 6
I refuseto call him Tait, not if I want to keep some semblance of professionalism. “See you tomorrow, Mr. Flanigan.” I turn on my heel and exit his room, pulling my phone out of my pocket as I head down toward mine. I open a new text to Emily.
Me:I’m not sure this job is going to be worth all the trouble. Why did I want to be a PA again?
I bite my thumbnail as I wait for the elevator and her response.
Emily:You want this job because it’s fun and a good way to break into the industry. Do some networking. Tait isn’t that bad. His bark is worse than his bite.
Me:He’s disgusting! Are all his jokes sexual?
I can picture her laughing as she reads the message. She and Tait are two peas in a pod. Her mind wanders to the dirtiest of places, too.
