Yes.“The longer you waste trying to be a smart ass, the less likely I am to accept your proposal. Get out of my room and let me get dressed in private.”
“I’ll be by soon with the revision. Look it over and we can discuss.”
He walks out of my room without another word. I plop down on the bed and lie back, groaning. This can’t be happening.Since when does an Irishman who is like sex on legs want to hook up with little old me?
I blame this entirely on me and last night. If I didn’t get drunk and tell him we could hook up, he would have moved on by now. It’s just like when you tell someone no, they want it even more. I’ve become Tait’s next obsession. Until he gets a taste, he’s never going to leave.
I sit up and flip the contract open, reviewing the terms.I can’t believe I’m even considering this! However, the chance of a lifetime is presenting itself. Am I willing to walk away from that? I’m so conflicted and have no one I can talk to about this.
Even Emily would probably tell me I’m crazy for thinking of accepting. The thing is, though, would sleeping with Tait be so bad? He gets enough women, so I’m sure he knows what he’s doing. My phone pings with a new message a few minutes later.
Tait:New contract is ready. Want me to bring it down?
Me:Will you leave again after you drop it off?
Tait:Unless you want me to stay...
Chapter 13
I’m a fucking genius.
My attorney, Liam, doesn’t think so, and if Rory ever caught wind of this, he wouldn’t think so either. But this isn’t their decision. Thank God for money; otherwise, I never would have gotten a contract written up and amended in such a short period of time. It’s only been about four hours since I contacted Liam and told him what I wanted. His words to me were “This is going to come back and bite you in the ass.” Well, as long as I can have hers, I don’t give a shit.
I walk up to Sam’s door to deliver the new contract, hoping she’s still in her towel. I knock and she opens it a second later, her bottom lip worried between her teeth. She must have been waiting by the door. She’s changed into a pair of loose shorts and a tank top. She holds her hand out, and I place the small stack of papers in it. Then she looks up at me in question, her dark brown eyes boring into mine.Damn, I want to be invited back in.
“Is there anything else?” she asks.
“Have you had a chance to review any of it yet?”
“My, my, you are impatient. Yes, and I have questions, but not right now. I want to go over this revised edition, and then we can talk later. Have a good night, Tait.”
She closes the door and leaves me standing there like an idiot. “Will you tell me when we can discuss at least?” I call through the closed door.
“Soon.” Her voice is muffled by the thickness separating us, but she’s still close to the door. I smile to myself at that thought.
I walk back to my room and order something to eat. I don’t want to go out with some of the cast to the dining hall they set up. I want time to myself. What if she refuses? Can I really spend the next month working with her andnotget in trouble? What if she says yes?Oh, God, I hope she says yes.I can picture how soft she would feel under me, how she would sound. I bet she’d whimper as I bring her close to the edge over and over again.
I’m rocking a major hard on. All damn day yesterday and today. I’m sure I got a few strange looks from the crew, but I don’t care. It happened every time she was close to me, and she was close all day. The perks of being my PA. I plop down on my bed and dip my fingers into the waistband of my shorts to find some relief.
A knock on my door tears my attention away from the task at hand. I fix myself and get up to answer the door. It’s just my food. I tip the guy and let the door to close behind me.
My phone starts ringing, and I dash to my bed. Emily’s name lights up the screen.
“Hey, Em, shouldn’t you be sleeping or something? Remember, fourteen hours of sleep is what you need now?” I chuckle.
“Ha-ha. Glad to see you are still annoying, Tait. How’s Sam doing?”
“She’s good. Gets me coffee and water like a champ. You’d be so proud.”
She laughs, followed by a cough.
“Uh. Don’t make me laugh. It hurts my spleen when I do that. Glad to know she gets you water just how you like it.” She hesitates, and I can hear her breathing on the other end.Spit it out already!“Did you sleep with her yet?”
“Ye have little faith in me, Emily. No, I havenotslept with her. Although…”
“Although what?”
“I never said I wasn’t trying to.”
