I pull my phone out and snap a picture of my outfit to send it to Tait. I’m a tease. What can I say? Quinn exits the bathroom, taking the phone from Elena and talks quietly with Caleb. I open a new message to Tait, sending him the picture with no additional message. I can picture the face he is making when he opens the picture and sees me.Is it bad I hope he decides to take care of himself to it?There is something so sexy in that thought that I press my thighs together to ward off my growing need.

It sure helpsto arrive with Elena. Not only did we go in through the secret entrance, but we were led to the VIP area with plush seating and tables.Goodbye, crowded bar!Elena orders us a round of tequila shots from the waitress. I walk toward the edge of the VIP section so I can look down at the crowd below. The music’s bass is so loud, my body shakes with the beat. The club is packed with bodies pressed up against one another.

“Sam,” Elena calls. I turn and she’s waving me over, holding the shot glass in her hand. I sit and pick up a glass. “To new friends. Let’s have a great night, ladies!” She holds her shot up in cheers, and the three of us kick it back.

“So, I want to get out on that dance floor and shake my ass! Who’s coming?”

All three of us stand and make our way down to the dance floor. I’ve never watched a crowd part like the sea, but that’s exactly what happened when Elena came into view. A small circle forms around us as we all dance together to the beat. Quinn leaves to get us all some water, and Elena and I continue to bump on the dance floor to another electronica song.

“You seem good for Tait,” she yells over the noise so I can hear her. I must look confused because she continues. “He lights up when he sees you.”

I try to play it off and laugh. “It’s probably the coffee or the water I’m holding for him.”

I close my eyes, feeling the music and swaying to the beat. Quinn has returned with our drinks, and the three of us are laughing and having a great time. Several random men try to grab Elena to dance with her, but she puts them in their place real fast. I feel a random pair of hands on my hips, and I sway back against the body once. I can tell his body is hard, muscular, and he is tall. I take a deep breath before turning to see who my snag is.

Tait.

I smile up at him and then pinch my eyebrows together. I pull his ear down to mine so I can hear him better. “What are you doing here? I‘m supposed to be having a girl’s night out.”

“You shouldn’t have sent me that picture then.” The two of us continue to move to the beat of the music. Quinn smiles at us and motions toward the VIP area. I look over and see Bradley is dancing with Elena. She looks ecstatic.I wonder if those two are dating?

“How did you find me in the crowd?”

“I’d know you anywhere. When Bradley and I arrived, we went to the VIP section and I scanned the crowd. It was easy to spot the three of you. I just had to look for the beautiful brunette with a killer body.”

He takes my hand and pulls me away from the dance floor to a darkened corner. He presses me against the wall, his leg in between mine holding me in place. He cups my face and kisses me with such passion my head begins to spin. I grip his broad shoulders for support, and when he pulls away, I want him back. I rub myself on his leg, frantic to feel more of him. I crane my neck and reach my hands toward his face to pull him to me again, but he takes my hands in his and leans his forehead to rest on mine.

“No, lass,” he looks around us to see a few people looking, “there are people watching us. Let’s not draw more attention to ourselves. Come on, let’s go upstairs and hang out for a little bit. I’d love a drink and then we can come back to the floor in a bit.”

We walk up the stairs and take a seat. Elena and Bradley still haven’t returned, but Quinn is sitting down scrolling through her phone, holding an almost empty glass. She looks over at us and smirks like she’s hiding something. Then it dawns on me. She knows. She knows Tait and I are together. I’m about to ask her, but Elena and Bradley appear. His arm is around her waist, and she bumps hips with him then laughs.Yes. They are definitely dating.

The waitress comes by with several drinks, and we all grab one from her. Appletini, my favorite. Tait puts an order in for his drink, and Bradley does the same. The waitress leaves us alone again. I sit next to Quinn, and Tait sits next to me, resting his hand on my knee. I look at his hand then over at him. Both of us smile at one another and I give my attention back to Quinn.

“Well, looks like I’m the third wheel tonight. Tait, I thought I told you it was going to be a girl’s night out tonight. Why are you and Bradley here?”

“It was my idea,” Bradley interjects. “I thought it would be fun for us to hang out for the evening. I didn’t think you would mind.” He tosses his arm over Elena’s shoulder and rubs his thumb along her bare upper arm.

“And it’s really Sam’s fault,” Tait says.

I turn toward him in mock shock. “Pray tell, please, tell mehowit’s my fault?”

He leans down so only I can hear. “The picture you sent me was too sexy. I didn’t want some loser to scoop you up. I protect what’s mine and I don’t like to share.”

I can feel the heat rise to my cheeks.

“Well, I want to dance some more. I’ll leave all you love birds here.” Quinn stands on shaky legs and makes her way down to the dance floor.

“How much has she had to drink?” Tait asks, watching her slowly descend the stairs.

“We’ve only had a shot and now this drink. Maybe it’s just the heels.” I shrug and try to take a sip of my drink.

He puts his hand over the top of it and takes it from me. “Hey! What the hell, Tait?”

“Did you order this drink?”

“No. I assumed Quinn put in the order. Why?” I look over at Elena and Bradley, who are watching our exchange.
