“No. I’m going crazy, Sam. The things I want to do to you… what I want you to do to me…” I slip her fingers under the blanket nestled on my lap and place her hand over my straining bulge. She bites her lip and whimpers. “Please, Sam. I promise this won’t change anything between us. The contract will ensure you’re protected. I don’t need it, but I know you do for peace of mind.”
“Trash?” The stewardess stops in front of us, smiling. Sam jumps and pulls her hand away, handing her cup to the woman. She ogles me for a moment then continues about her job. The moment between the two of us is gone. Can’t say I’m not surprised; it’s just my luck that the moments keep slipping by.
Chapter 16
I can’t getthis man out of my head. I really need some space without him, but he’s right about staying at my apartment. It’s a bad idea, especially with Emily as sick as she is. We arrive at the hotel at almost midnight, and I am so tired I want to sleep forever. I go to check us in as Tait grabs the two bags and thanks the driver.
“Good evening. How can I help you?”
“Hi. I’m checking Tait Flanigan in. There should be two rooms booked.
The man types Tait’s name into the system and looks back up at me. “I see him here, but the reservation seems to only be for one room.”
“No. There should be two rooms.”
“I’m sorry, miss. Only one room was booked, and we’re completely sold out for the evening.”
I’m going to cry. I can feel the tears just below the surface waiting to pour out. It happens when I get too tired.
“Is there anything you can do?”
“I’m afraid not, miss. I’m sorry.”
Tait walks up behind me and places his hand on the small of my back. I love when he does that; it makes me feel protected and calm. “Is there a problem?”
“Yeah. It seems the studio only booked one room. I think I’ll just call an Uber or something and stay in my apartment.”
“No, you won’t.” He looks back toward the man behind the desk and smiles. “There’s a pull-out couch or something in the room, yes?”
“Thereisa couch in the room, but I’m not sure if it’s a pull-out or not. I can call housekeeping to check for you.”
“No, mate, it’s fine. Just give me the room key and we’ll check.” He turns back to me. “We’ll figure it out.”
The attendant hands us the key to our room, which is on the first floor. I’m relieved. I don’t want to spend more time in an elevator with this man. I’m tired and horny, and I’m not sure what would happen. He opens the door and ushers me inside. The room is basic—dresser, television, small desk, two nightstands, and a large king-sized bed. However, the man at the front desk was wrong about the couch. There is only a small chair.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, I fall backward, letting my legs hang over the side. Tait hovers over me, reminding me I’m not alone. When I look up at him, he places his hands on either side of my head. I shift back on the bed, crawling on my elbows, and he crawls with me until he has enough room to place a leg on either side of me. I’m caged in, and there is no place I would rather be at this moment.
“I, um, I should call an Uber to take me to my apartment.” I make no effort to move.
“No. You should stay here and get a proper night’s sleep.”
He’s hovering over me, but he might as well be lying on top of me. I can feel his body heat emanating through his shirt and jeans, and I reach my hand up to cup his cheek. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m so tired or because this man stirs so many emotions within me, but I blurt out the next words without thinking.
“You’re so handsome. It’s not fair that I can’t have you.”
He grins from ear to ear and whispers, “Who said you can’t have me?” while dipping his head to kiss my cheek.
“Me. I said I can’t. You know the whole ‘don’t cross the streams’ thing.” I offer a small smile, but it doesn’t reach my eyes.
“Stop thinking. Take what you want.” He runs his flat palm over my chest, tracing down my stomach, and stops right before reaching my sex. “Your body responds so naturally to me. I want you just as much as you want me. I can see it in your eyes and the way your body reacts when I’m close.” He leans in, pushing my head to the side with his nose. He bites down on my pulse point, sending a wave of arousal between my thighs. He then licks the bite, soothing my heated skin.
I pull at his shirt, needing to see his perfect chest and stomach.I just need a few minutes to admire him. That will be enough to keep me going, right? He obliges and pulls it over his head, discarding it somewhere on the floor.Take what I want. It’s not that easy. I have way too many thoughts running through my mind. He must see my mind working a mile a minute. He kisses my jawline, making his way down toward my breasts.
“Don’t think. Just feel. Close your eyes.” I do, taking a deep breath. “Good girl,” he murmurs. He traces his lips around the neckline of my shirt, then down over my breasts and stomach. I rock my hips up as he nears the juncture of my thighs, and he chuckles, pushing my hips back down on the bed. My mind goes blank as I concentrate on his fingers and lips as they travel down my body. The way my body tingles after every touch of from his skin. The way his breathing changes as he kisses lower.
“If you want me to stop, tell me now. Otherwise, I’m not going to.”
Fuck it.
