“Caleb, we have a few more hours of shooting for the day, and you are in a few more scenes. You can’t just leave.”
“Watch me.” He pushes past a few people who are trying to block his exit. “Take the expenses out of my fucking pay. I don’t care.”
He walks out of earshot so I don’t hear what else he’s saying. I look back at Elena who looks down at the ground.
“Quinn’s here, isn’t she?”
“Yeah. I told Caleb that she was arriving today. She must have texted him to let him know she’s arrived. I guess that means we only have a half-day shoot.”
Joe tosses his hands up. “Great, we just lost the star of the movie. It better have been some kind of emergency.”
“I’m sure it’s a bigger deal to him than it would be to anyone else,” Elena chimes in.
“Well, everyone, take a break. We need to figure out what we can shoot now with him gone.” I’m sure I hear him mumble something about killing Caleb under his breath, but it could just be my own wishes.

I knock quietlyon her door, knowing Caleb is going to be there. I need to see her though; I need to get her help with Sam. She opens the door and blinks at me a few times. I smile down at her and scoop her up in a bear hug. She squeals as her feet leave the floor, so I put her down but keep my hands on her waist.
“Tait, what are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be trying to kill someone or something?” She pushes me out into the hall and closes the door behind her, wedging her foot in between the door and the jamb.
“Nope. I can’t because the star ran off the set. I figured you must have texted him because, when he was leaving and they tried to stop him, he put up a big stink about taking it out of his pay to make up for the time lost. There were a few small shots they could get with us that were left, but we had to wrap early.” I grin.
“Heleftjust to come see me?” She turns her head and peers through the crack in the door, looking at Caleb.
“Yep. He’s got it bad for you, lass. Listen, Quinn, I need your help. I figure you’ll know what to do.”
“Once again, I’m not helping you out with that. Find some other girl to hook you up.” She laughs, and I shake my head.Thank God this girl knows how to joke.
“No, I’m serious. There’s a girl. She’s different than the others, and I want to get to know her, but I don’t think she’ll be willing. She’s hot as fuck, but I think she’s scared shitless of me.”
“Who is she? Do I know her?” She wiggles her eyebrows, humor displayed across her features. “Also, what the fuck did you do to scare her so badly?”
“You know me, I come across kind of strong, and I think it put her off. No, you don’t know her, but I can’t wait for you to meet her. She will be on set tomorrow, so I’ll introduce the two of you then.” I motion back toward her room. “I figure Romeo is going to come busting down the door soon if I don’t set you free. I’m so glad you’re here, Quinn. We are going to have a lot of fun together.” I place a gentle kiss on her cheek.
“Probably. I’ll see you tomorrow.” She pushes the door open and takes a step in the room.
“Quinn,” I start. She turns and looks at me as I take her hand in mine. “You know, if you ever need anything, I’m here for you, right?”
“Yeah, Tait, I imagine you would be. Thanks.”
I drop her hand, and she closes the door behind her.
Now, to work on getting the girl I want, with the only option I’ve been able to come up with.
Chapter 12
Since filming early endedfor the day, I went back to lounge by the pool. Giselle and Chloe are great company, and I’m glad we have time to sit and relax. Bradley’s assistant, Cristina, joins us a short while later.
There’s a slight breeze by the pool, and I toss my towel over my shoulders to keep the chill at bay. The girls are telling me about filming for the past month and what it has been like on set. I’ve since learned that Giselle is currently seeing one of the extras, Chloe stays as far from the actors as possible, and Cristina has a steady boyfriend at home.
“Any good gossip on Tait? I’m trying to figure him out.”
“Stay as far from that man as possible. He’s bad news when it comes to women. Emily used to tell me she had to get rid of stage five clingers in the morning and have them sign an NDA before they even left the hotel,” Chloe states.
“I once heard he had to be treated for gonorrhea. Don’t know if it’s true or not, but that sucks if it is,” Giselle giggles.
“It’s not true, but I’ve heard the round of medicine to cure that is a bitch.” Tait smiles, walking up to us. “Also, just in case you’re wondering, I’ve never had any kind of STD.”
