“Yeah, but—”
“If you leave now, you’ll be here in time to have dinner and then stay at my place.”
My heart rate kicked up a beat. “Stay at your place?”
“Is that not what you had in mind?”
“I actually wasn’t sure. I didn’t really think about it before I called.”
“I have several meetings this afternoon, so you’ll need to come here or—”
“I’ll pack a bag and be on my way.”
“Good.”
“I’ll see you soon.”
“Hey, Stace?”
“Yeah?”
“Pack a bag for the entire weekend, would ya?”
A smile returned to my face. “Will do.”

Eddie textedme his address and gave me instructions on where to park in the guest area of his high-rise condo. I sent him a text when I had arrived and then grabbed my bag and headed to the front door. Eddie was walking out as I approached.
“Hi!” I smiled, and not missing a step, I wrapped my arms around his neck and jumped into his muscular arms.
“Well, this is some greeting.” He smiled back.
“I told you I wanted to thank you.” My lips met his, both of us opening simultaneously, and our tongues twirled around each other. Eddie was a good kisser. I was going to miss kissing him when I went on tour. Damn.
We pulled apart. “We better get upstairs before my neighbors start talking.” He set me on my feet, grabbed my bag with one hand, and laced our fingers with the other.
“What’s the plan for the weekend?” I asked as we waited for the elevator.
“Do we need one?”
The elevator dinged and then opened. We stepped inside. “Nope.”
“Do you still like your pizza with sardines?” he asked, pressing the button for the twenty-third floor.
“What?” I shrieked.
Eddie started laughing. “I’m kidding, but are you okay with ordering pizza tonight? I’ve had a long week and just want to relax.”
“Actually, that sounds amazing. I don’t know when I’ll be able to relax after this weekend.”
“I’m sure we can arrange something.”
“What do you mean?” The elevator doors opened onto Eddie’s floor.
“Do you think I can go six months without seeing you?”
My cheeks heated. “You can’t?”
