Jay was silent as he eyed Brandon and Jason. And it hit me what hewasn’tsaying.
“Oh shit, you’re fucking your clients?” I asked, returning to my seat at the table.
Jay’s eyes were wide as Brandon said, “Just don’t do it at the gym. Do it on your own time.”
I thought Brandon would be pissed, but then I remembered Spencer was a client at the gym at one point, so Brandon couldn’t be a hypocrite.
“Not a problem,” Jay assured. “So, let’s see … There’s Callie, Renee, Barbie, and Teresa.”
“Teresa? As in Teresa Robinson?” Jason asked.
Ah. The rich cougar.
“Yep. That’s the one.”
“I’d hit that,” I admitted, and instantly thought of my mother’s friend Deb I had a summer thing with.I wonder how she and Sarah are doing.
“Well, this explains why I haven’t had to deal with her for a few weeks,” Brandon chuckled.
“So, how is she?” I asked. Teresa Robinson seemed like the type that would take control and demand what she wanted. To me, that would be a good fuck.
Brandon looked at me and shook his head. “If she gets her claws in you, I don’t want to know about it.”
“I don’t kiss and tell, bro.”
“If you break Stacey’s heart, Spencer won’t forgive you,” he stated. I knew Stacey and Spencer were friends, but not close enough that she knew Stacey was on tour with Maze.
I sighed over the fucking Stacey drama. “We aren’t together, okay? I live here now, and Stacey is living her life. I can fuck whoever I want.”
I left the table and went into the kitchen for more shots.

May turned into June, and then it was July. I felt as though I was really fitting in, even though I was still living with my brother. I’d even helped with wedding planning. Though, when I was stuffing invitations, I came across one for Stacey.
“You’re inviting Stacey?” I asked, staring at her name on the list.
“Yes,” Spencer simply replied.
“But you know we aren’t together,” I argued.
“And you know I’m friends with her.”
“You can be an adult,” Ryan, Spencer’s best friend, who was a woman but had a boy’s name too, said.
“I’m an adult.”
“You know what I mean.” Ryan rolled her eyes. “Your brother’s wedding isn’t about you.”
“I know that,” I sneered. I wasn’t a complete tool.
“So, this Stacey might come,” Ryan went on. “Maybe it will be a chance for you two to talk and work out your issues.”
“We don’t have issues.”
“Sounds like you do,” Ryan probed.
“We broke up. End of story.”
