CHAPTER 13
KILLIAN
We’re giving her space.
At least, that’s what Dylan says we should do, and that fucker has a valid point.
She’s been through a lot.
And while I want nothing more to barge into her room and fuck her senseless, I keep my obsessing to myself.
I keep my “space.”
I fucking hate it.
It’s one thing to have her annoyed or angry with me. In fact, it’s delicious, and charming.
But I don’t want her to resent me.
Which is more than I can say about any other woman. They’ve all resented me in the end, which is fine by me.
But with Olive…
I couldn’t live with myself if she hated me.
Dramatic, Killian.
I’ve turned one of Brock’s guestrooms into my new permanent residence, at least for the time being. My apartment is doing just fine without me.
I’m consumed with thoughts ofher, lounging on my bed when there’s a knock at my door.
It’s probably Dylan.
“Come in,” I say, staring up at the ceiling, not bothering to look in that direction.
But Olive’s sweet scent, delicate and bright, floods the room and my heart stops.
I sit up and all my attention turns to her.
She’s stunning, wearing one of the shirtsIordered for her, and my Alpha growls in approval. Her cheeks aren’t as hollow, most likely thanks to Dylan’s chef skills, and her skin has a rosy flush.
No one should look like that.
My cock twitches as I stand up and stalk towards her, smirking. To my surprise, she stands her ground, looking up at me as I tower over her.
“Yes?” I ask.
Her eyes flash to my chest, then back up to my eyes, her face flushed.
A perfumed sweetness fills my senses as her pupils widen.
My smirk grows bigger.
“You can pull on them, if you want,” I say, referring to the piercings on my nipples. “It’s fucking fantastic, I promise you.”
Her face turns a deeper shade of red, and I laugh.
“I’m just kidding, princess,” I say. “At least, for now.”
