Their scents envelop me as reality sinks in.
I’m safe.
Alphas protected us!
“This is yours?” I ask Brock as I cling to Killian.
“Yes,” Hannah adds behind me. “Never used it until now, though.”
“Never needed to,” he quips back, as Killian walks up the steps of the plane with me.
“Holy shit,” I breathe.
The interior is gorgeous, with rich brown leather seats and cream accent walls. We walk past an actuallounge, and Hannah sighs dramatically as she flops down on the couch, shaking out her ponytail.
“I need a fucking drink,” she mutters, pressing her hand to her forehead. “And a twenty-hour nap.”
“A twenty-hour nap sounds phenomenal, actually,” I mumble, and Killian huffs out a laugh. I listen to his heartbeat, memorizing the rhythm as he holds me close.
Ineedhim.
He’s the missing piece in all of this.
I have Dylan. I have Brock.
But I still need Killian.
His darkness. His mayhem.
His violence.
“There are bedrooms past the bar,” Brock adds. “Killian, take careof Olive. We’ll keep tabs on the news.”
I hear the underlying meaning.
Mate her.
I shiver in anticipation, and I practically hear Killian grin.
Before I can say goodbye, we’re rushing down the hallway and into a bedroom, beautiful and furnished.
I would never believe I’m thirty-five thousand feet in the air, as he lays me on the massive bed.
His icy eyes burn into mine as he cups my cheek with his hand. “What do you want to do, beautiful? Shower, or sleep?”
I take him in. We’re both filthy, but he wears dirt and grime well. I have to tell myself that the dark spot on his shirt isn’t blood.
But even if it was…
He’s still ridiculously attractive.
“Shower,” I mutter. “You’re just going to have to do a decent job of keeping me awake.”
His grin is positivelywicked.“Oh, my sweet girl. You havenoidea what I’m capable of.”
I can’t fight it any longer.
Arousal swirls inside me, despite the expired suppressants and tainted bitters flowing through my veins.
