Story: Storm (Dissonance #6)
CHAPTER 3
RICHARD
The relief that hits me as we all silently watch her signature fill each page of the contract is so much stronger than I was prepared for. Honestly, up until the tip of the pen touched the paper, I thought she was only here to fuck with me.
No way was this woman going to be amenable to the whims of four older men who are stressed and overwhelmed with their jobs. But Miriam proved me wrong. As she signs the last page with a flourish, she snaps the pen shut and drops it on the table. I turn the papers toward me and check them over. I see where she filled in her full name on the first page. Miriam Delgado.
My eyes widen when I read her birthday. “You’re only twenty-four years old?”
“How old are you ?” she snaps back, crossing her arms under her breasts. My eyes fall to the way they’re heaving with her rising irritation, and when she snaps her fingers, I jerk my gaze back to her furious sneer. “My face is up here. I grew up with five brothers who had a lot of friends, so I don’t tolerate having my tits stared at when someone is speaking to me. I know I’m here to fuck you, and to do a lot of other things, I’m sure, but treat me like the lady I am.”
Running my hand over the buttons on the front of my shirt, I rein in my temper. She’s right; I’m being rude. “I apologize. I’m thirty-seven years old, Ezra is thirty-four, Tatum is thirty-three, and Kevin is?—”
“Forty-five,” he cuts in, answering for me. “Can we all just take a minute? I feel like things are getting off on the wrong foot.”
Tatum claps his hands together once, causing Miriam to jump. “Agreed. Why don’t we grab some food? We can chat, get to know you a little, and vice versa. I also don’t think we need to dance around why you’re here, so let’s just be open about that.”
Maybe because I’m the closest, I hear the way her breath shudders when she inhales slowly. She’s scared as fuck and putting up a brave front. “Will you guys give us a minute?” I ask them, keeping my eyes locked on the beautiful woman standing before me.
“Be kind,” Ezra bites out before walking from the room. Tatum follows, giving her a soft shoulder bump as he passes. Kevin doesn’t interact with her, but to me he communicates a million warnings with one look before spinning and shutting the door behind him. Leaving us alone.
Standing, I circle my desk and stay about a foot away from her. I didn’t realize how short she was, maybe only a few inches over five feet. “Can we start again?”
She’s trembling slightly when she nods sharply. “I’m sorry. I’m not normally… no, that’s a lie. Normally, I’m combative, but I don’t mean to be.” Looking around the room at anywhere but me, she adds, “This is more than a little overwhelming.”
I put forth my best effort to shove every feeling I have away, and only cling to the patience I’ve buried deep within me. With a small smile, I tap her chin to have her look at me. When she meets my eyes, I see every ounce of vulnerability written on her face. “That’s more than understandable, and I should have been more respectful of that. Shall we start over?”
Stepping closer when she lowers her eyes, I cup her face and bring her eyes back to mine. “Hi, Miriam. I’m Richard Leigh.” My voice is softer, kinder this time, and I know I’ve made the right decision when she huffs out a small laugh. “It’s nice to meet you.”
This close to her, her soft scent of fresh air and something floral fills my nose, making me breathe in deeply. Closing my eyes, I let the knowledge that I’m on vacation wash over me, and let my stress go. I jerk them open when her hand covers one of mine.
“It’s nice to meet you too. I hear you’re a lawyer.” Her teasing tone makes me laugh and shake my head.
“I am,” I answer. “I hear you’re a home-health worker. From what I understand, that’s hard work.”
Nodding, she gives me a genuine smile. “It is hard work. It’s not forever though. I work nights while attending nursing school during the day, so it’s only temporary.”
Dropping my hands, I study her a bit harder. “You’re working a full-time job and going to school? How do you?—”
When she holds up two fingers, I stop speaking and blink down at her, not sure what she means. Answering my question, she says with a shrug, “I have two jobs. The second one is only about ten hours a week. One of the families I work for hired me to do some light cleaning for their mother, and weekly shopping. So, I squeeze that in when I’ve got the time.”
I have to remind myself that I don’t know her situation or her, for that matter. When I went to college, I was lucky enough not to have to work to support myself. That doesn’t mean I didn’t spend countless hours studying in between classes, though. It was hard word. I admire her work ethic.
“Then you need this weekend just as much as we do, I suspect.” The blush lighting up her face is incredible. So, Kevin was obviously right. Miriam Delgado is definitely a virgin .
“Probably,” she mumbles. “It gets me out of work for the next three days. That’s a bonus.”
Shaking my head, I wrap my arm around her shoulders and steer her from the office to join the guys. Leaning down, I whisper in her ear, “Don’t get your hopes up. We’re going to make you work, Miriam.”
My light smile turns darker when I feel a shiver wrack her body under my arm. Although our guest is inexperienced, I’m positive she’ll enjoy our plans. Ezra’s thing might be up in the air, but we’ll have to see.
Walking into the kitchen, I feel her stiffen when we both hear Tatum’s question. “Who’s fucking her first?”
Well, here we go…
I have to give her credit when she simply narrows her eyes in his direction and marches to one of the empty barstools surrounding the counter. “ Pendejo ,” she mutters, then asks no one in particular, “Can I have a glass of wine or something before we discuss who’s going to fuck me free of my virginity?”
I don’t have to speak Spanish to know that she just called Tatum an asshole, and Ezra’s ear-to-ear grin is enough to know I’m correct. You could hear a pin drop in the room, none of us sure how to answer her.
She looks around, then eyes Kevin. “I assumed you told them.”
“Oh, he told us,” Tatum breathes out huskily.
Kevin is pinching his nose in frustration. “Jesus, you guys are assholes. Yes, Miriam, I did let them know. Figured it was an important piece of information.” Grabbing a bottle of wine from the fridge, he holds it up to her, asking for approval. When she nods, he speaks while opening it. “As far as who , I think that should be up to you.”
“Not me,” Ezra grunts out. He completely misses the flash of hurt on her face.
We all know why he shouldn’t do it, but she doesn’t. Glaring at him, she hisses, “ Que te jodan .”
The idiot is still grinning as he stands up and grabs a wineglass from the cabinet to set in front of her. Coming to my side, he whispers, “She told me to get fucked.”
Kevin pours a glass and is apologizing, again , for our lack of manners when I whisper back, “You speak Spanish?” He hums a yes and shoves his hands in his pockets. “You’re not going to tell her?” I ask, still keeping my voice low. He only grins, then goes back to watching her.
“Ezra is…” Kevin trails off, debating how to explain why she shouldn’t pick him. “Ezra can be a bit more wild. I guess that’s the best way to explain, and he knows it too. He didn’t mean any offense. But the choice is yours.”
The way she starts giggling is another surprise. I’m not sure if it’s true laughter, or if she’s turning hysterical. To Kevin, she apologizes. “Sorry. It’s sort of a silly choice to make, isn’t it? Who would you pick?”
My eyes immediately go to Tatum, then Kevin. Not that I wouldn’t want to, but she and I had a rocky start. Both of them would take care to make sure she was comfortable.
“I’m going to go get the rest of the stuff from the car,” Ezra mumbles, then turns and walks out of the room.
Miriam watches him leave, then asks, “Does he not want me here? You asked me if I was okay with everyone, but you all have the same choice.”
“I guarantee he wants to be here. Ezra isn’t around people a lot, so his social skills aren’t always up to par,” Tatum explains. He’s not wrong, either. It took me a bit of time to get used to the way he interacts with people. Ezra can be off-putting until you experience him in his environment.
We all drop our eyes to her mouth when she chews on her lip nervously. Miriam sucks in a breath when she sees us. “Jesus, you all are like vultures.” Throwing back her almost full glass of wine, she sets it down on the counter. “Can we stop making this so goddamn awkward? Do we really need to discuss any of this? Let’s just, I don’t know… go with the flow or something.”
“Abso-fucking-lutely,” Tatum growls out, then takes the few steps toward her to pick her up by her waist and drop her on the counter. Grabbing her knees, he shoves her legs apart and steps between them. He pulls her hips forward until he’s pressed against her center.
The beautiful gasp that escapes her has my cock twitching. I glance at Kevin, only to see him watching beneath lowered brows. He’s zoned in, and I know every worry and long hour he’s worked over the past few months is fading away. Out of all of us, he’s the one I worry about the most. His job has been wearing him down, especially since he was promoted to captain. The job comes with more than just running a police station. Now he has to deal with the politics behind the scene as he tries to run the show.
“Tell me, Miriam?—”
“My friends call me Miri.” Her words fumble out as she stares at him with wide eyes.
Tatum’s smile grows as he nods. “Miri. How much experience do you have?”
Her eyes flick over to me, but he grabs hold of her hair at the back of her head to gain her attention, focusing her back on him. “I’ve kissed boys before.” Kevin raises a brow in surprise, but he doesn’t comment. Her confession doesn’t shock me, though. Something in my gut tells me she hasn’t done much.
“Anything else?” he asks her, leaning in closer, his mouth only inches from hers.
Her lower lip trembles, not because she’s upset, but because she’s excited and nervous. I take a step forward to hear when she whispers, “I gave a guy a hand job one time in high school.”
He hums in thought, then asks, “And he didn’t return the favor?”
She shakes her head slowly. Fucking high school boys.
“Wonderful,” he says, then drops his mouth against hers, tugging on her hair to tip her head back so he can dive his tongue inside.
When I hear the front door open, I drag my eyes away from watching Tatum kiss the fuck out of Miriam. Ezra is walking inside, carrying a few bags, stomping his feet on the floor mat. Over his shoulder, I see that snow is starting to fall outside. That may put a damper on Ezra’s preferred method of fucking, but we can deal with that later.
A soft moan draws me back to the scene on the kitchen island.
“Why is there a massive bag of tinsel in the…” Ezra asks, then trails off when he sees what both Kevin and I are watching. “Oh. Hell. Yes.”
His voice pulls her attention from Tatum, but Tatum stops her. “Eyes on me, baby,” he murmurs, before diving back in.
Ezra drops the bags on the floor and stands next to me once more. “I leave for five minutes,” he complains softly, then grips himself through his jeans to adjust his cock. He’s never been one to hide when he’s turned on. None of us are now, actually. Not since we’ve gotten used to this arrangement over the years.
It took some time before we figured out what works best for us. It’s not like we were all sitting together and just decided one night to get a girl for all of us to fuck. There was one woman I spent time with, and she met Kevin at an event in town we were both attending. There were a lot of drinks that night, and the three of us ended up going back to my place for the evening.
Ezra and Tatum have always been connected at the hip from their time spent overseas, and she met them about a year after Kevin and I were with her. A different woman came into the picture later on and things just sort of naturally happened when we were taking a night off. Then, the first woman called us, which turned into a night of both me and Kevin, along with Tatum and Ezra, fucking her.
From there, we’ve just progressed into this . An arrangement with various women for all of us to take the edge off in between our busy schedules. No commitments, no promises. Just sex.
It’s been a while since our weekend was spent with someone organically like this. I’ll be honest, it adds a whole new level of excitement to it. Mainly because I don’t know what to expect from Miriam Delgado.
When Tatum rips his mouth away from her to tug her shirt over her head, my lips curl up into a grin. Reaching down, I squeeze my now fully erect cock and mentally promise it’ll get to fuck her soon.
I vaguely hear Tatum whisper the question about protection. In the contract, our most recent physicals were included, but I know she didn’t see it. When she assures him she’s on birth control, I feel my heart pump extra hard. I’m not opposed to condoms, but I’d prefer to go without.
There’s just something about seeing my cum leak out of a well-fucked pussy that makes me feral. I’m going to fill her as many times as I can over the next few days. Miriam seems to be the perfect choice for our getaway.
