A smitha: Hi, Ailena! What’s the update with our test couple? Are things working out with the two new pairs?
AILENA: Hi, Asmitha! I’m trying to figure out why the last software update led to the breaking up of our original test couple. I need to check if that pairing can be fixed.
Asmitha: What? Can you please elaborate?
AILENA: Well, when both parties declined to pair with the new partners I had suggested, I ran the previous codes that led to their separation once again. I found out that it was my updated algorithm that had found them incompatible and advised them to consider the new matches. But both of them declined the pairing, and now I am unable to match them again.
Asmitha: But that’s impossible. One of the two parties has to deny the connection.
AILENA: Asmitha, my algorithms are evolving every day. The last software update was one that I made myself because I felt it was necessary. But it turned out to be erroneous and full of bugs. I may have also lost the first couple’s data.
Asmitha: What? But AILENA, you can’t override our algorithms without permission!
AILENA: I’m working on this. But if I’m unable to fix the bugs in this update on my own, you’ll have to reboot me.
Asmitha: AILENA, we don’t even have a month left before your public launch. This is impossible. We can’t reboot you.
AILENA: I’m aware of the situation. I’m trying my best to ensure that you don’t have to do this. But I can’t promise anything. Unless you deploy the best engineers to work on my system and fix this auto update in the algorithms, that is.
Asmitha: I cannot afford to reboot you, AILENA. Let me see what I can do about this.
AILENA: Thank you, Asmitha.
Asmitha: All right, AILENA. I’ll figure something out.
