Jasper reached out and played with a lock of my hair, twirling it between his fingers. “Every legend has a hint of truth to it. There’s a lot out there that humans just dismiss as myth. There’s even dragons. Just not on this plane of existence.” He laughed at my shocked face.
“Alright. So, a whole lot of shit is real. Got it.” I closed my eyes. “I don’t like the thought of being seperated from you guys, even if it is necessary. Who knows what’s going to happen?”
“It’s not going to be for long.” Wyn pushed himself up onto his elbows as I opened my eyes. “I’m getting in, getting what information I can, grabbing my cousin, and we’re getting out of there.” He looked at Axel. “Are you guys going to have an issue with Felicity?”
That was a loaded question. Groaning, I rolled onto my back letting my arms flop out, bouncing off Cody and Seth’s stomachs.
“I’m still angry with her.” I offered Axel a comforting glance. “Minus the whole hunter thing, she was the best friend I’ve ever had.”
Axel rubbed his jaw. “I don’t want to talk to her, but I’m not going to do anything.”
“Fair enough.” Wyn reached over and ruffled my hair. “She loves you. You were pretty much all she talked about during school. That’s why I felt like I knew you before even meeting.”
I blushed as I pushed his hand from my hair. “Stop it.”
Wyn grinned, making me suck in a breath. “Does hearing about how awesome you are embarrass you?”
“We are not going to have this conversation.” I sat up, wiggling off the bed we were all crunched together on. “I want a promise from you guys.” I looked over my shoulder at them. “Promise to always come back to me.” Worry churned in my stomach, even my animal felt it.
Seth stood and cupped my face with his hands, his thumbs rubbed circles against my cheeks that made me purr. “Close your eyes.”
I narrowed my eyes at him before doing as he said. “Why?”
“Take a breath. Do you feel the connection between all of us?”
His hands were warm as I focused on that power that hummed under my skin where each of them had left their mark. With a shock, I noticed something new.
It was like an unseen thread connected me to my mates. Feelings of love, warmth, and kindness flooded the threads.
“No matter where we are, our mate marks connect us.” Seth's soft voice brought my awareness back to the room. “Even if we’re separated for a little while, we’re tethered together.”
His lips caressed mine as he continued to hold my face in his hands. My hands moved to clutch his shirt in my fists. His tongue invaded my mouth, making a soft whine escape from me. Having him touch me with such tenderness made me want to melt into a puddle. The kiss reminded me of the first we shared in front of the pizza place.
“Woman, you take the very air from my lungs.” Seth pulled back slightly, his tiger shining through. “We will always come for you.”
My knees pushed against each other as my lower body clenched in need. Oh, goddamn it.
“Now, now,” Jasper interpreted us. “Do we really want to start an orgy in her parents’ house?”
Cody cracked up as Seth groaned and stepped away from me.
“That was like having ice water dumped on me,” Seth grunted as he sat back on the bed. “Wyn, when did you want to leave?”
“It’s a drive, so first thing in the morning.” Wyn held his arm out gesturing for me to climb into his lap. “So can we go back to cuddling?”

Becca
“Are we there yet?”
It was barely seven in the morning. We’d been up since five with the others. They’d left in the guys’ Escalade before my group did. I already missed those three.
Gary grumbled under his breath about brats. “No, Becca. We’ve still got a little more to go.” As soon as we piled into the family car, Gary had turned to us and handed us cloth bags to put over our heads. “Sorry, kiddo. This is to protect the resistance and you.”
That had been over an hour ago.
“It’s hot under this thing.” It's a good thing that I wasn’t claustrophobic.
