“You’ve got one, too.” I looked at his crotch, knowing that he was watching me, and I licked my upper lip. My voice was low so we didn’t distract Becca from Seth’s singing.
“You are such a shit, you know that?” Jasper reached around my shoulders to pull me against him possessively and ran his nose along my neck. “Just wait until tonight.”
The end of the song sounded in the room and Becca stood up clapping. We joined her, temporarily ignoring the hard ons that were becoming increasingly uncomfortable.
“Seth, you can sing! That was amazing!” Becca moved to him, wrapping him in a hug as if it was the easiest thing in the world for her. “Look! You got a ninety! The highest so far!”
I still had a hard time believing how easy this was for her. How seamless she seemed to blend with her animal. At the beginning of the summer, just my sudden touch sent her spiraling into an anxiety attack. Now, she touched us as if it was the only thing she wanted to do. We didn’t have many shifters that weren’t naturally born. Those that got turned were so rare, I had never actually met one until Wyn and Becca, and they were special, even more so.
“Who's next?” Seth kept his arm around her waist as he looked at the rest of us in challenge.
My wolf bowed with his tail in the air. I was just about to offer to sing again when Wyn surprised all of us by standing. He took the mic from Seth with a growing grin that promised a challenge.
“If we’re singing country, I’ll have to join in. Won’t I, kitten?” He cocked a brow up at Becca.
I moaned at how her scent flared around the room at just the nickname. Jasper squeezed my shoulders. He was holding himself back pretty well. Axel had been quiet throughout Seth’s song and exchange now, but he shifted in his seat. My wolf yipped in amusement that our bear was just as uncomfortably hard as the rest of us.
Seth handed him the mic with a laugh after they stared at each other for a few moments. I relaxed a little against Jasper. He hadn’t been challenging Seth again. He was actually having fun with us.
“Alright, boys.” Wyn scrolled through the songs on the screen as Seth went back to the couch with Becca. He sat with her in his lap. She kept her eyes on Wyn. “Let’s see how hot we can get our little kitten, mm?”
We all zeroed in on Becca. All the skin she was showing went bright red. She crossed her arms across her chest and she huffed.
“Really? Wyn!” Her reaction was priceless because she tried to sound stern but we could all tell it was a lie.
Wyn started the machine and Nothing On But The Radio started. I started laughing softly, pressing my mouth against Jasper’s chest so I didn’t interrupt the song. Jasper’s chest moved as he held back his own laughter. I looked over at Wyn and had to bite my hand from laughing loudly. He was moving as if he were line dancing as he sang.
It was actually kind of sexy. He had a nice ass.
Axel surprised everyone by standing and moving to stand next to Wyn as he joined him in the line dance. Becca’s mouth wasn’t the only one that fell open in shock. These two giants moved in sync as Wyn sang out the lyrics.
Jasper couldn’t hold it back anymore. His laughter spilled out and mine was right after. Axel winked at us as he turned with Wyn and they both did the next move that ended up showing off their ass to us for a few seconds.
Becca started laughing, her voice added to the song. By the end of it, even Seth was laughing as Axel and Wyn bowed. Wyn got an eighty eight, so he wasn’t that bad of a singer either. I didn’t think this guy had it in him to have fun.
“That was amazing!” I stood, clapping. “I had no idea you could line dance, Axel.”
He snorted. “I’m from a family of bears who isolate from the world and are addicted to country music.”
“I didn’t know that.” Becca squirmed out of Seth’s lap. “I don’t know a lot about you guys.”
“That means that we get to know each other.” Axel’s hands went to her waist as she came up to him. “We have all the time in the world.”
Becca nodded and gave a cute yawn. I had a sudden urge to pick on her, but I held back. The others might really kick my ass if I did that. Although, without knowing her animal, she might like it.
I finished my beer with a loud burp, getting everyone’s attention. “Tonight is bonding time and fun! Who’s next?” I looked at Jasper. “I vote the fox.”
Jasper slapped my ass as the others all agreed. He went over to the machine to look through the songs. Becca moved off toward the deck door. I went with her. She had a look of wonder on her face.
“Becca?” I waved a hand in front of her face but she just grabbed it and laced her fingers with mine.
“Stars.” Her soft whisper was full of awe. “I can see.”
It was pitch dark outside, but thanks to our animals, we could see just fine. I’d forgotten, stupidly, that Becca hadn’t been able to see at all in the dark before. Apparently, I wasn’t the only one who’d forgotten.
The others came up behind us and Axel opened the doors so we could step out onto the deck. Becca looked up into the sky. Someone turned off the lights in the game room, letting the light from the stars and moon the only source.
I led Becca by her hand to the rail, letting her lean against it as she gripped my hand in her right as her other gripped the rail. Large tears fell from her. She cried silently as she glanced around.
