I’d known that summer was quickly coming to an end. Now, it would be over within the next day. I smiled as my animal rubbed against me. I let her see that I was happy, not upset, about becoming a shifter.
I took a deep breath. It was time to go back to the ‘real’ world. Putting my phone in my pocket, I headed downstairs to speak with the guys. It was time to help.
Chapter 26
Cody
Her laughter filled the room. I could just stay with my head in her lap all day. Her fingers played through my hair. I knew she was making small braids, but she was enjoying herself, I wasn’t going to complain. When she’d come back with Jasper, she’d seemed so relaxed and content. That made me happy, pushing the demons away again.
“Wyn,” Becca had told us about her phone call with Gary. “What are you going to do?”
“It’ll depend on what we learn from Gary.” Wyn had been distant, at least I thought so. We still didn’t know enough about each other to really tell. “I wasn’t told about anything major that was going to happen from my aunt. It’s interesting.”
The hybrid shifter was lounging on the other side of the large couch. He was splayed out, his one leg on the arm rest. The man was built like a truck. I wondered briefly how it would feel to have his thighs around my head as I sucked his cock. My wolf grumbled as we got hard.
Becca’s fingers tightened in my hair as she tugged on it. “Naughty wolf. What are you thinking that’s got you so excited?” Her lips twitched as I looked up at her.
I grinned at her crookedly. “I’m a guy.” My eyebrows wiggled and she giggled again. “All I have to do is look at you and it stands straight up.”
“Oh dear Lord.” Jasper sat next to us with my feet in his lap. He shook his head as he groaned at my reply. “That was terrible, Cody. Terrible.”
“If we’re going home tomorrow, I’d like to go back to the cabin. I need to clean it up at least.” Becca twirled a large section of my hair on her finger.
“We can stop at the cabin before leaving.” Seth looked up from the book he’d been reading. “But you don’t need to worry about cleaning anything up. We took care of that the first night while you rested.”
She looked around at us in surprise. It was like she wasn’t used to others helping her. “Why didn’t you say something? I could have helped.”
“To be fair, your arm was still pretty messed up and you were out of it. We couldn’t really ask you to help, now could we?” Seth looked back down at his book. I could see him fighting a smile. “It’s taken care of. The door was replaced and we cleaned up the inside. We spoke with Gary about it and he’s set up his company to come out soon to fix everything.” This time he looked up with a small, apologetic frown. “We weren’t able to salvage anything.”
Becca sighed as she continued to play with my hair. “I figured that would be the case. He really messed everything up, didn’t he?”
“He didn’t win. That’s all that matters.” Axel had been quiet for most of the morning. He was sitting next to Seth but he’d had his eyes closed for most of the time. He’d been disappearing the past few nights and hadn’t told anyone where he’d been going or what he’d been doing. Seth didn’t seem worried.
“You’re right.” Her thighs shifted under my head. “Regardless, I don’t want to be separated from any of you.” She looked over at Wyn specifically.
He grinned at her and I could smell her arousal. Hell, she could probably smell mine too.
“I’m not going anywhere, kitten.” Wyn stretched his arms above his head and his shirt lifted, giving us a very nice view. “You’re stuck with me now, remember?”
“Since it’s our last night here, why don’t we have a barbeque like we did the first day we all met?” She looked at all of us with a hopeful expression. “I really loved that.”
“That’s a great idea!” Jasper pushed my legs off his lap. “We have all the things here, so we don’t even need to worry about grocery shopping. Plus, it’ll help lessen the amount of things we have to pack in the cars tomorrow!” He leaned over and kissed Becca loudly. “Brilliant.”
“What about me?” Whining, I pushed at his knee with my foot. “I want a kiss, too!”
“You’re so needy.” Jasper grinned as Becca laughed at my antics. “Sit up so I can kiss you.”
Becca’s fingers slid through my hair as I did as Jasper said. His hand gripped my chin, tilting my head up. He pressed our lips together softly.
“You’re such a brat.” His words were soft, meant only for me.
“Yet, you love it.” I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him but this time, I took control, my tongue pushing into his mouth roughly. He melted under my onslaught as I moved to pull him in my lap but we both froze when Seth cleared his throat.
“As much as we all enjoy watching you two go at it, if you start now, we’ll never get the things done for the barbeque.” His dry remark just made Wyn snicker.
“I don’t know. It smells like our mate was getting into it.” Wyn looked at Becca, whose face exploded in red as she flipped him off.
“Actually,” Axel stood up. “While you guys get the barbeque all set up, I wanted to show something to Becca. Is that alright?” He took the few steps to stand in front of her and offered his hand. She didn’t even hesitate as she slid hers into his hand. “We’ll go in our shifted forms, I’ll bring a pack that we can put our clothes in.”
