Page 101 of Secrets We Fight
“You can go now.” I waved my arm toward the door.
“Fallon—”
“I said leave!” I shouted.
“I have a right to be here too.”
I quickly glanced at Rhett. The glare on his face told me he was itching for a reason to forcibly remove Finn from the house.
“You’re not on the guest list, and everyone has orders to only let those in who are on the list.” I headed toward the door because I was done with the conversation. “Goodbye, Finn.”
“Fallon, wait!”
“If you don’t leave, Agent Shea will make you.” I rounded the corner, Rhett right behind me. Knowing I needed a few minutes to cool off before guests arrived, I hurried up the stairs to my room.
Once inside, I closed the door and pushed Rhett up against it. I attacked him with my mouth and worked on the buckle of his belt.
“Baby,” Rhett said against my lips.
“Shut up and take your pants off.”
A stiff drink would probably help me calm down, but so would my boyfriend’s dick.

People had startedto arrive by the time Rhett and I were ready for the party again. In a few hours, the sun would set and the fireworks would begin. They were always my favorite part.
We walked outside, and I greeted the people I knew. I figured the ones I didn’t recognize were on Faye’s guest list. Getting past all the Secret Service agents surrounding the property or the ones posted at the gate would have been impossible otherwise.
Walking toward the bar, I spotted Declan, who had brought Luca with him. The two were throwing back a shot, and I headed their way to say hello.
“Sup, guys? Having a good time?”
“Always,” Declan replied, and each of them gave me a bro hug then shook Rhett’s hand.
“I’m going to go talk to Day and his girlfriend.” Rhett kissed me on the cheek and then walked away.
“If you get too wasted, don’t drive back. We have plenty of spare rooms here,” I advised.
“Thanks. We’re working on it.” Luca held up his shot glass for the bartender to refill.
“How’s Ashford, Nolan & Torrance treating you?” I asked Declan.
“It’s good. Drafting a bunch of briefs mostly, but that’s to be expected until I’m hired as an attorney there.”
“Even then you’ll only be a junior associate, so I bet you’ll be doing the same thing.”
“Maybe, but at least I’ll have eye candy.”
I tilted my head slightly and tried to think of who Declan could be talking about. Since my father wasn’t working there anymore, I had no clue who was on their staff. “Oh, really?”
“Yeah.” Declan squeezed my shoulder. “You didn’t tell me your uncle was hot as fuck.”
I shuddered. “He’s my uncle, bro. I don’t see him like that. Plus, he’s straight.”
“I know, but he’s still nice to look at.” Declan’s stare moved to the other side of the pool, and I turned to see Uncle Sean talking to a woman I didn’t know.
“And he’s your boss,” I reminded him.
