Lorelei laughs. “All this drama over nothing.”

Victory turns and hits my arm. “You have to claim her so I can go knowing the universe is right where it’s supposed to be.”

Okay. I take Freedom’s hand and pull. “Brothers! Today, I claim Freedom as my ol’ lady! Her cut is in and she’ll get it as soon as a Prospect can bring it to me.”

Brothers are yelling and women are screeching. I kiss my ol’ lady and pull Victory to us before the Brothers can reach me. “I’m glad you’re here now and we’ll wait for you to be here for the party.” Kissing her cheek has tears in her eyes. I kiss Freedom again, but quick this time and get slapped on the back then turned.

Cort hugs me. “Good job and congratulations, Brother. She’s a good woman, but you already know. See if you can get her to take a job here. She’d make a great Enforcer.”

I laugh and VP hugs me. “He’s fucking crazy, Brother. She works too much now. Congratulations, Ranger.”

“Thanks, VP.”

It takes me ten minutes to make it close enough to Freedom to catch her hand and pull her to me. “Lo’u alofa, now that you’re mine, I want you all to myself for more than ten minutes.”

She smiles. “Sorry, but that’s going to have to wait for at least an hour. Victory is leaving for California and I can’t ditch her.”

Shit, I thought she was going to work or something. I just found out she was moving.“An hour? I can do however long she needs. Go, so she settles and leaves knowing you’ll be okay.”

She pulls and I follow for a kiss that wants me to change my mind. “Love you more for that, Ranger Ross.”

“Love you too,lo’u alofa.”

She’s walking away and I look for the Officers while trying to clear my head. She’s my ol’ lady. I never thought it would be like this. Victory is moving in an hour. Life is fucking weird sometimes. I smile heading toward the food tent. I have mylo’u alofa. Life can be weird.
