Page 124 of Ranger's Rise
“Freedom! I’m going home early. A Brother is driving me home in an RV! Here. I’m so excited. I got his ID and license ‘cause I know you.” She hugs me almost dumping us both back.
Scraps pulls her off me. “Where’s his information?”
Victory looks stunned, but hands him her phone. He swipes and types, then types on his phone with hers in his shirt pocket. Seren is laughing. I shake my head at her and stand to hug Victory, without the screeching, while he checks the Brother out.”
“Love you no matter...”
“Where I am in the universe. I love you too, Freedom. It was so good to see you, but I don’t work here. I have friends now too and love every day. I’m so glad I moved, but miss hugging you every day.”
I give her an extra squeeze. “Whenever I tell you I love you, it’s a hug, Victory. Be happy and stay safe, sista. I’ll miss your face.”
She laughs and cries, but there’s a smile on that face. Scraps clears his throat and I step back. “He’s a good Brother. Call Freedom when you get home.” He hands her the phone and steps back again. Harmony laughs.
“I’ll call you when I get home.” With a kiss to my cheek, she’s running toward the parking lot. I shake my head. So much for the plane ticket. My sister is more of a free spirit than I ever want to be.
“I’m glad she isn’t pissed at you for sending Shaggy to the hospital,” Harmony says to Seren.
I smile. Seren doesn’t miss shit and she proves it. “Yes she is, she’s pissed at all of us for laughing and agreeing that Shaggy deserved the dish. She didn’t hug anyone but Freedom.”
“Oh, my God, you’re right, the Care Bear never showed.” Lorelei has me shaking my head.
Harmony gets us off that quick. “Hey, the Indian guy said Caelan will be fine with the boys.”
“Which one? The big one has a weird thing about him.”
I laugh. “He’s the President of Territories. That’s the President to all the MC Clubs.”
Lorelei is surprised. “Oh. No wonder.”
Seren cracks up. Lorelei is so fucking smart, but misses the most basic things.
Harmony shakes her head. “So, the other one. How would he know?”
Seren shrugs. “Cort said he’s a prophet and seer so he would know.”
“Wow. Who is the other guy? He knows a few of the new Flight Brothers and Mounty. Ranger has a lot of friends. They all know him.”Harmony is watching Ranger and Ford talk to some Flight Crew Brothers.
“He’s Ford. He’s FBI.” I smile thinking he’s been surprised and happy talking with those friends.
“Wow. MC, FBI, Indian prophets. What are they doing now? I just got the office settled.” Lorelei goes from impressed to suspicious.
Harmony and Seren are laughing. Jesus, Lorelei is too much with the work shit. She’s missing what’s playing out right in front of us. I stand. “I need food.”
“I’m in!” Seren jumps like I’m running away.
Harmony is already moving. “I’m in too.”
“You never tell me what’s happening! I’m hungry too.”
I keep walking. She’s just like Raid.

Ranger
I sit feeling the power in the room. All the Presidents are sitting but Ben Knight. He told us about the threat and the hits they took to outlying areas. He’ll have Jeremy and Jared get with Anton and Akai to shield all the Club office buildings and grounds.
Cort agreed, but every Club we have is miles of land. The sun here is great, but trying to maintain and cover so much would take another satellite for each Club plus the maintenance spanning so much land. Ben gets their Brother Jared on the screen and he agrees with Cort, saying it’s too much. Ben thanks him and the screen goes black.
