“I think the word you’re looking for is trapped. But I see now that there’s more than one way of being trapped.”

“I don’t have time for this.” I grab my shirt and storm to the door.

IPUNCH THE BAG INthe gym over and over again. My knuckles hurt, but I don’t give a shit.

It’s Sienna.

She’s a problem.

She’s gotten into my head.

I told her things that I shouldn’t have, and now she thinks that she knows me when the truth is that she knows nothing.

And the worst part is that it felt good to tell her.

It felt fucking good.

But maybe it’s a good thing if she pities me now. It’ll be easier to manipulate her. To make her think that somehow we have something in common.

To make her believe the weird fantasy she’s come up with in her mind.

But what if she’s right?

What if she kept track of what she ate just to please her parents? Just like I trained as hard as I could to please my father?
