My face twists. “Get in. Your lady is getting cold.”

Gage’s face changes, a dark smile creeping across his face. “I’ll warm her up.”

I’m caught up in that smile for a second, imagining what he’d do to warm me up, all the places he’d put his body, until another burst of icy wind comes in.

I poke his stomach with the sword. “Get in already.”

Gage laughs, moving around the car. When he settles in, an energy fills the car. It’s a loaded silence.

What is he thinking? Is he just as turned on as I am, or am I misreading the situation?

I jump as Gage’s hand settles on my thigh. His thumb strokes up and down on my jeans, brushing the part with a rip. Every time I feel his skin on mine, it’s like fire. Okay, so not misreading.

When we get back to the house, I’m barely breathing. I stop in the driveway, but Gage doesn’t take his hand off my thigh. I sit there, unsure of what to do, until Gage turns toward me. My gaze locks on his lips, which he licks.

“Raven.”

“You know you can tell me no at any point, right?” His gaze is firm, gentle, and full of restrained power.

“Yes,” I can barely get the word out.

“And you know that I’ll listen, right?”

I can barely nod.

“Words, Raven.”

“Yes.”

“Good.” His hand leaves my thigh for a second, then it’s back, and he’s closing something into my fist. It’s the sword.

“Slice my nuts off if you must.”

Then his lips crash down on mine, and suddenly, I’m wrapped inhim. His scent, his strength, and his desire. He kisses me like he’s been wanting to all night. Like it’s something he needs desperately.

Suddenly, he’s gone. I’m gasping for air before I realize he’s on my side of the car, unstrapping me and lifting me out.

“Gage!” I gasp in surprise.

“You’ve impaled me with your lancet!” Gage holds me closer, and I realize I accidentally stuck him in the chest. I laugh as he walks us to the door.

We reach the steps, and I wonder if Gage can see them.

“Don’t drop me.” I struggle to see where we’re going.

Gage stumbles a step, and I half-scream. He snatches me back up to his chest. “Whoops.” But there’s a smirk in his voice.

“That… You’re a dick!” I shove his chest.

“So you’ve said.”

As soon as we’re inside, Buddy yips in excitement. Gage puts me down, only to press his body into mine, smashing me against the wall, bending down to kiss me. It makes heat surge to my pussy.
