“I think the better question is, how much of what you think is a dream, is real?”

“Right,” I agreed. “And that’s my point.” I picked up the booklet. “If I take some of these classes, will they help me tell the difference?”

“Between dreams and reality?”

“Yes,” I agreed. All those things I’d passed in the Quarter, had they been ghosts? Yokai? Or just people?

“I think you already know the difference. You simply don’t want to acknowledge it.”

I let out a long sigh. “So I’m a little crazy and yet not, but I see things for what they are?”

She nodded. “He’s fast,” she told Micah.

“Sometimes,” Micah agreed. He took the booklet from me. “Can we look this over and call to schedule a class if we decide to go that direction?”

“Of course,” Dion agreed. “I’m sure you’ll have questions for Sky as well.”

“I do,” Micah said. He dug out his wallet. “Can we pay for your time?”

She waved away his money. “Perhaps buy a bowl?”

“Had already planned to, actually,” Micah admitted. He got up, tugging me with him. If I hadn’t been so lost in thought, I might have protested, but there was a lot in my head. I understood now why Micah took to crafting when he had to work things out. Sometimes the focus could help us narrow the voices, or shut them out completely.

I gripped the booklet, thinking hard about the answers I’d received. Micah chose a few candleholders and bowls of amazing quality craftmanship that would be coming home with us.
