“ W hat are ya grinning about over there?” Colin asked as we rode the elevator up to the top floor.
He didn’t know what he’d agreed to and didn’t seem to care. But when we got to his apartment, I was going to show him.
Unlocking the door, he pushed through and held it for me and Bella. I unhooked her and let her investigate while he released Allister.
“Wait,” he said, turning to me. “How did ya get both of them here? And there are no tags on the carrier or your bag.”
I had to touch him. “We flew privately. I didn’t want to put them through that on a commercial airline.”
His eyes widened. “You rented a private plane to bring you here? All the way across our ocean?”
“I’d do whatever necessary to be with you. And when we go home, that’s the way we’re traveling.”
“Can we join the mile-high club? I hear it’s great.”
“We can. It has five beds.” He gripped my shirt and slammed his mouth on mine. As he plastered his body to mine, I waited for him to feel the rings around my neck. I didn’t have to wait long.
Stepping back, he put a hand on my chest. Colin turned his head to the side as he pressed his fingers to the metal. “What’s this?”
My smile was ridiculous.
“The plan,” I said, stepping back out of his embrace. Whipping my shirt over my head, he studied the two identical rings hanging from around my neck.
“What…”
Before he could ask his question, I asked mine.
“Colin Kearney,” I said, taking off the chain.
“Love of my life.” I held his ring out, then dropped to one knee.
“I don’t want to do this life without you because I will never stop loving you. You have owned my heart from the moment you came down that escalator. So, would you please put us out of our misery and agree to spend the rest of your life with me as my husband?”
He looked at the ring, then at me, down on one knee. When his eyes met mine, visible relief washed over him. “Are you sure you want that with me?”
I stood and I held out my hand for his left one. “There’s no one else for me,” I said, sliding the ring on his finger. “You’re who I’ve been waiting for my entire life.”
I held his face in my hands and kissed him softly. “Say yes.”
He smiled, then brought his forehead to mine. “Yes,” he whispered across my lips. We sank into a sensual kiss that I poured my heart into. We hadn’t been together before he left, both of us too sad to summon the intensity needed for one another.
“I want to make love with you,” I said to him, kissing his eyes, his face, and any exposed skin. “I want to show you how much you mean to me. Prove to you how I can’t live without you. Never allow yourself to doubt how perfect you are in my eyes. Now ruin me for anyone but you.”
Colin’s smile was beautiful as he nodded.
I kissed his forehead. “I need to clean up so I can relax. Shower with me?”
His eyebrows knitted just enough for me to notice. “What’s wrong?”
He swallowed and looked at me. “That’s where he used to…”
I stopped him with a kiss, knowing exactly what he needed. “Then allow me to exercise every demon living in there, and wipe away any other memory but ones of how much I love you. Let me fill your mind with what our future is going to look like.”
Colin took a deep breath. “Yeah. That.”
He took my hand and led me to his bedroom. I put the chain on the dresser, then began to strip out of my clothes. But Colin had other ideas.
He picked up the chain and looked at the ring. “This one is yours, right?”
I smiled and nodded.
“Then you need to be wearing it.”
Removing the ring, he took my left hand. Placing the ring on my finger, I couldn’t imagine a more intimate expression of our love. We’d get the paperwork and make it legal, but as far as I was concerned, he was my husband, and I was his.
“I love you with all my heart and soul,” he said, leaning down to kiss my ring.
I returned his words, feeling them deep into my core. “And I love you with all my heart and soul.”
I pulled him into my arms and kissed him sweetly, just as if we were taking our vows in front of our family and friends.
Leading me to his shower, he turned on the water while I wrapped myself around him.
“I want you to take me, ” I murmured into his neck. “I want to feel you deep inside. Make me yours, sweetheart.”
Colin turned and looked into my eyes. I needed him to see that I intended to erase every bad memory in his life and replace it with one of love. Starting in this very room. Nodding just enough for me to see, he adjusted the water as we stepped in.
Pressing my back to the wall, my fiancé kissed down my body. He fisted our erections with his right hand as he leaned into me.
“You don’t want to tease me. I’m kind of desperate for you,” I said, kissing any place I could reach.
“Understood,” he said, reaching for the shower gel. “I want to relax you a bit, then I’ll get to work.”
I couldn’t stop the goofy grin I knew I was wearing as I watched him lather the soap in his hands, then begin to wash me.
Running his hands over my shoulders, down my arms and abs, to my cock, he massaged my balls and cock before turning me around.
He started all over at my shoulders, kneading the muscles in my arms before slipping his fingers between my crevice.
“Spread your legs, love,” he whispered.
Complying, I did as he asked while he ran soapy hands over my hole and down to my taint.
Clinging to the wall, my dick throbbed and was impossibly hard as his hands moved down my legs, then back up to squeeze my cheeks.
“Baby, you’re killing me.”
I was desperate, so I instinctively pushed back for more.
“Fingers, inside me. Please,” I begged. “I need you.”
“We’re getting there, love. Be a little more patient and I’ll get you there.”
A change in sensation came when the spray of warm water flowed over my shoulder and down my body, rinsing the soap away. When he got to my ass, he spread my cheeks the best he could with one hand, until I reached back to help.
“I love how you help without me asking.”
He rewarded me with the tingling spray against my sensitive skin. Moaning, I pressed back then found the delicious press of my cock against the slick tiled wall.
“Oh, no. None of that. I’m the one who’s going to make you shoot.”
Changing the spray to a stream, he softened the muscles around my hole with the pulsing jet that both electrified and made me crave more.
“Baby,” I moaned, unable to find any other words. It was erotic and brought me close to the edge.
“Not yet.” The feel of warm breath against my skin sent new ripples through me.
The water disappeared when he stood. All sensation disappeared, except for my pulsing erection, until he ran his tongue down my spine, his soft beard leading the way until he stopped on my hole.
Obscene noises that made me desperate escaped him as he devoured my hole. My eyes rolled to the back of my head as my legs shook. Colin reached up through my legs to point my cock down.
As he licked me furiously, his fingers ran over the head of my cock, playing with the nerves that made me shiver.
“Colin,” I warned.
He understood my desperation, then stood to run his slick head over my hole.
“I want to slide into you with just my pre-cum, but it won’t be enough.”
Stepping back, my ears picked up the sound of a bottle opening, and when he pressed his cock between my cheeks, it was cool and slippery.
“Press your hands to the wall, and step back for me, love.”
“Fuck, yes,” I hissed, complying.
Colin put his left hand over mine, then laced our fingers. I caught sight of the ring on his finger. My ring. He was mine, and I was his. No one, nor any distance, would ever separate us again.
Pulling our clasped hands off the wall, I brought them to my chest, over my thumping heart.
“This is yours,” I said. “Take me.”
Colin leaned around and took my mouth as he buried himself inside me. We kissed hungrily as my husband-to-be took me and made me his. Nothing between us, not even air.
It had been almost a week since we’d been together, and I was desperate for him. I never wanted this euphoric feeling to end. And when I remembered it never would, I let myself go.
“Fuck me, baby. I need to feel you mark me from the inside.”
As Colin’s breaths grew ragged, I whispered to him over and over. “I love you. I love you. I love you.” This was for him. I knew Leland had left scars on his soul, and I intended to heal every one of them.
The love of my life filled me with his warmth, and when he was spent, somehow he found the strength to flip me around, drop to his knees, and finish me with his mouth. His left hand reached for my chest, and the ring sparkled at me in the shower light.
My knees shook as Colin took me to the back of his throat, and when I came, it was with the keen awareness that this would be our life. Loving each other unconditionally, never to be separated again.
I slid down the wall to where he was on his knees. Looking into his eyes, I pulled his face to mine and kissed him soundly.
We sat in the shower under the endless rainfall of water, letting it wash away his past and welcoming our future.
