Page 73 of Out on a Limb
“I’m sorry. I’ve had Hobie this week, and those early meetings. And I didn’t really know proper etiquette in this situation. It’s been a while since I, well since I’ve been in this position.” Walker stepped closer, and Cameron was able to smell him again and get a good whiff this time. That cologne and shaving cream. Cameron was going to melt.
“Well, I’ve never been in this position,” Cameron said. He thought about it a little more, and yeah, still true. “I’ve never been in a relationship.”
“So, we’re in a relationship now?” Walker crossed his arms.
“No, I mean…we’re hanging out together. You know, a lot. And I didn’t kick you out of bed the morning after we slept together, which is something. And…shit. I think we’re in a relationship.” Now Cameron was speechless. So that was how it happened? Relationships: the ultimate sneak attack.
“For the record,” Walker said, threading his fingers through Cameron’s. “I missed you, too.”
Cameron tilted his head back for a kiss. When their lips met, all the confusion and dumbfoundness that mashed around in Cameron’s head vanished. Everything seemed clear.
He pulled Walker closer and felt the erection developing in his pants.
“Since we have the conference room to ourselves,” Cameron said. His fingers danced on Walker’s belt buckle.
Walker pulled away and pointed behind him at the clear glass wall that looked out on rows of desks. Some people looked up from their computers to gawk.
“Tonight,” Walker whispered into his ear. Cameron could’ve come right then and there.
Φ
When Cameron arrived at Walker’s condo, he could smell the food through the door. A warm pot roast marinating in the oven and some type of garlic mashed potato waited for him.
“Perfect timing!” Walker said as he took Cameron’s coat. “The pot roast is just about done.”
“Great. It smells wonderful.” Cameron walked down the familiar hall.
“And the mashed potatoes came out really well.”
“Awesome.” And strolled into Walker’s bedroom.
“Do you want a glass of wine?”
“No thanks.” Cameron stripped off his shirt and unbuttoned his pants.
“I have beer if you want,” Walker called from the kitchen.
“I’ll pass.” Cameron chucked his boxer-briefs onto the floor and stretched out across the bed. He gazed at his naked self.
It took Walker a few seconds to realize that Cameron wasn’t coming back into the living room. He stopped at the entrance to his bedroom.
“Naked Twister time?” Walker asked.
“Naked Twister time.”
The smile on Walker’s face made him seem twenty-two again.
“Did you make sure to turn off the oven?” Cameron asked politely, stroking himself.
Walker turned into the Tazmanian Devil of nakedness, yanking off all his clothes in a whirr and climbing on top of Cameron. He was covered by Walker’s warmth and loved the feeling of those hands exploring every part of him. They were doing the same things that Cameron had done with other guys, but something about being with Walker brought this to a higher level.
Probably that whole feelings-and-relationship thing.
Walker shifted further south and took Cameron’s raging erection in his hot mouth. Cameron grabbed onto the worth-every-penny bedding. Walker’s beard rubbed against Cameron’s thighs. He watched Walker bob up and down as the room, the earth, the entire universe spun like a kaleidescope. Just as Cameron thought he was about to shoot, Walker’s mouth was off him.
He stumbled over to the closet. Cameron gave him a look through the mirror.
“I’m not leaving condoms and lube in a nightstand drawer that my six-year-old son can access.”
