“He’s going to fire me,” she sobs.

“He won’t. But he’s on edge. It has nothing to do with you. He’ll apologize to you, you’ll see.”

Audrey snorts a hiccuping laugh. “I would say you don’t know him, but you probably do. I can’t believe he actually listens to you.” A flush rises on her cheeks. “Not that it’s my place to comment on your relationship.”

Finn chuckles. “It’s fine. But I would like to ask you for something.”

Audrey gives a tentative nod.

“Can you write down all the occasions you remember when Jamie’s things went missing? The date, what was lost, and where you were at that moment?”

“You don’t believe I took the things, do you?”

“No. But someone took them, and I want to find out who. Look, I’m not interested in some lost clothes, even if someone stole a thing or two to make a dollar. But I suspect we’re dealing with something else here.”

Jamie won’t be amused that he so much as hinted at the existence of the stalker, but Finn is fed up with Jamie’s antics. They need to start asking questions if they want to catch this bastard. Audrey pales at his words.

“It’s Red Eyes, am I right? He collects things.”

Finn’s hand involuntarily lands on the hilt of his sword still hanging by his side.

“Red Eyes? Who's that?”

Audrey picks up a glove from a heap of discarded requisites and turns it in her hands restlessly. “It’s nothing. You know how superstitious movie crews are.”

“But this isn’t the usual superstition on set, right? You’re scared.”

Audrey stares at him. “I thought it was just one of these silly urban legends, you know? The superstar who’s haunted by a demon.”

“Wait a minute, you think Jamie is cursed? Haunted by some kind of demon?”

“I know how this sounds. I didn’t believe it myself. But I’ve seen it–him. I don’t even know!”

Finn tilts his head. What Audrey hints at is frightening, but Finn feels thrilled, as if he were hunting with Dagur. Supernatural being or not, this is his home ground.

“You don't believe me,” Audrey says.

“What did it look like?”

“What?”

“Red Eyes. Was there another feature about him you could make out?”

Audrey takes a deep breath. “At first, I thought someone on the crew was messing with me. It looked like something out of a horror movie, glowing red eyes, horns peeking out from under a dark hood.”

“Can you guess how tall he was?”

Audrey bites her lips. “You’re really taking this seriously.”

Finn nods.

“I don’t know. I never really thought about him as a real person before. They appeared to be tall, but I was so scared when I saw them. If I had to guess, I would say it was a male, not as tall as you, but I’ve no way to be sure.”

“Anything else you remember?”

“They vanished like a ghost.”

Finn hums. “Okay. Who else saw them?”
