“You hungry? I can carry you to the kitchen.” I added.

Instead of replying with words, she nodded and lifted her hands up in a carry me motion.

I chuckled at her antics before dipping down to pick her up.

She wrapped her arms around my neck and nuzzled her face in the crook of my neck.

She was way smaller than I, lighter than what I would bench press for warm-up without even trying.

I squeezed her to me, taking a deep breath of her scent.

I could feel my entire body relax as I breathed her in.

My chest involuntarily started to rumble as I headed down the hallway.

Graham followed a little way behind us, yawning.

After breakfast, it took a bit of cajoling from all three of us before Lydia was convinced to wear something other than sweatpants and a tank top.

Usually, I wouldn’t care what she wore out as long as she had clothes on, but I knew that when she got to our destination, she would wish she’d dressed up a bit more.

Sorren and Finn distracted her as I quietly directed Graham to our location since we had to mute the GPS.

“Is this where you wanted to take me?” She asked while Finn helped her out of the car.

As I figured, she wasn't too excited about the dress shop.

Once she was steady on her feet, Sorren pulled her close and rested his chin on the top of her head.

Thinking that image was cute, I took a secret photo of them to add to my collection.

“Yep, I looked at the reviews, and they had a lot of people commenting about how good the place was,” I replied.

I know clothes shopping isn’t really your thing, but do you think you could find at least one dress you like?

” I asked, turning to give her my best puppy dog expression.

She looked at me, still unsure about it, until I decided to sweeten the pot.

“I’ll make those candies you really like. ”

“Deal.” She said before I barely had the chance to get the words out. She ran out of Sorren’s arm and grabbed mine and Graham's before leading us to the store. Graham and I looked at each other, grinned, and shook our heads in disbelief. Sometimes I worry that she’s too easily bought candy.

We entered the building to find the entire place filled to the brim with dresses of all kinds. There were categories for the type of dresses one would look for, such as prom, engagement party, and so on. After looking at all the directions we could go, Lydia turned back to me.

“How formal should I go?” She asked. I thought for a moment about how I should answer that question.

“Meeting your boyfriend’s parents or meeting friends,” I replied.

Lydia thought for a moment before nodding.

She decided to go toward ‘going out dresses’ and we all followed her.

Once again, we were surrounded by dresses of all kinds in a small department at the end of the store.

We all went through the dresses to see if we could find something that would look good on Lydia.

As I looked through a rack of dresses, I glanced at the alphas to see if they had picked anything yet.

Sorren was looking at a slightly revealing red dress with a really low back.

I give the guy credit for giving the dress a chance, but I knew Lydia wouldn’t go for it.

Lydia would probably be stressed all night about being too revealing and worry about getting the long dress dirty.

On the other hand, Finn had already picked out a lavender dress.

It was more conservative than what Gabriel chose, but it didn’t have any sleeves on it.

Lydia tended not to wear dresses like that but could surprise me.

Graham still hadn’t picked out a dress, so my observation would have to come later.

Returning my focus on the rack of dresses, my hand stopped on a short black dress.

Its sleeves were lace and see-through. The dress would probably stop just above Lydia’s knee, but I’m sure she could wear stockings if she was worried.

What caught my gaze the most was the sequins sewn into the dress, making it look like a galaxy of stars.

I smiled to myself. This was a dress Lydia would definitely like.

After several minutes of searching, Lydia hadn’t found an option, and Graham had finally chosen a dress. He tossed it over his arm, so I couldn’t see exactly what it was.

“Let’s hope you guys had better luck than I did,” Lydia muttered as she took the dresses from us and headed to the dressing room to the right of the room .

“Whose dress you think she’s going to pick?” Sorren asked from the post he had taken up leaned against the wall as we waited for Lydia to show us the first dress.

“Bold of you to assume she’ll choose one of our dresses,” Finn replied.

“Wanna bet on it?” Sorren said, his lips curling in a smirk. That caught my attention. I always loved a good bet.

“What does the winner get?” I asked, raising one of my eyebrows. Sorren's smirk widened.

“100 dollars,” Sorren said, taking a hundred dollar bill from his wallet.

“Deal,” I said, confident I would be the winner.

“Count me in,” Graham announced.

“Me too,” Finn added.

With renewed interest, I turned my attention back to the closed dressing room door. Within seconds, Lydia had exited the room in Sorren’s red dress. As I thought, Lydia looked stiff and uncomfortable in the dress. A whistle echoed through the room.

“That looks gorgeous on you,” Sorren said, looking her up and down. Lydia returned his comment with an appreciative smile.

“Thanks, but I think I’m going to try the others on.” She said before closing the door behind her again. Once the door closed, Sorren silently mouth ‘damn it’. I chuckled and rolled my eyes at his reaction.

“Seriously, you chose that one for her?” Finn said as he cocked his eyebrow at Sorren.

“I may not have been thinking logically when I saw that dress,” Sorren replied.

“Obviously,” Graham commented.

After a while, Lydia returned wearing Finn’s lavender dress. The dress fit the shape of her body amazingly, and she looked more comfortable in this dress.

“Do you like it?” Finn asked Lydia. Lydia spun around the dress and looked at herself in the mirror.

“I do, but I’m not sure about having no sleeves.” She commented. Finn’s jaw tightened, but he didn’t say anything. After one more twirl, she returned to the dressing room.

“Guess you're out of the running.” Sorren teased. Finn grimaced and glared at Sorren. The tension was high now with only Graham’s and my dresses left.

I was getting antsy when Lydia exited the dressing room again.

The dress she wore wasn’t the one I chose; instead, it was a dark blue short dress that went to her knees.

A glittery belt band wrapped around her waist, giving her a nice hourglass figure.

The straps weren’t too thick, and the collar didn’t go too low either.

This was definitely a dress Lyida would like .

“What do you think?” Graham asked as he observed the dress. I had a feeling he was looking at what needed to be taken in or up when we got the dress hemmed.

“It’s nice, I like it.” She said as she twirled in the dress again. “What do you think?” She asked, turning her gaze to Graham. Graham’s eyes met hers, and they softened slightly.

“I think it’s amazing on you.” He said. Lydia's face reddened slightly.

“I’m going to go try Gabriel’s on.” She stuttered out, walking quickly back into the room.

“Looks like we have a winner,” Finn announced. At Finn’s words, Sorren begrudgingly handed the bill to Graham, who confidently stuffed the money in his front pocket.

“She hasn’t decided yet.” I reminded them, but didn’t say anything else.

Lydia returned after a couple of minutes had passed.

As I thought, the black dress looked like she was wearing a mini galaxy along the bottom.

The see-through gave off an air of maturity while the lack of body to the dress made her feel more approachable.

Lydia turned around in the dress and watched the glitter sparkle in the light.

Looking at her face, I could tell she was enraptured by the dress.

“Gabriel?” She called out. Keeping my voice even, I replied to her.

“Yes?” I answered.

“Did you choose this dress?” She asked, turning to me. I nodded with a wide smile.

“I did, do you like it?” I asked, but I already knew the answer.

“Do I like it?”She said before running to me and jumping up to wrap her arms around my neck, “I LOVE IT.” She yelled out.

“It’s amazing, it’s like I'm wearing a mini galaxy on my skirt!” She gushed out.

I spun her around, matching her excitement, before finally letting her go.

She ran over to Sorren and Finn to show them the dress.

While all three were distracted, I walked over to Graham and took the bill from his pocket with two fingers.

“I believe this is mine,” I said with a grin. Graham gave me a wicked look, but he didn’t protest.
