Page 43 of Her Loyalty
Standing in the mirror, I looked down at my stomach, stretching it out as far as I could. I was simply practicing for my near future. Things were definitely changing for me.
"There's nothing there yet." My mother joked, making me smile small as I turned around to see her standing the doorway of my soon to be old room.
"How do you feel?" She asked and I shrugged, slanting my lips.
"I can't believe I'm really pregnant this time." I went onto say, realizing that this was now real.
I'd just came back from the hospital to get my stitches removed and they ended up doing another blood test, turns out I was a couple of weeks pregnant. And though I knew something was going on with my body, I definitely wasn't expecting it to be this.
"Well when's the last time you had sexual intercourse?" She went onto ask and I felt it was a little too personal but I knew she was only trying to get information, just like I was.
"Well.." I trailed off, sitting down at the edge of my bed, trying to remember.
"The last time was the night I got shot." I admitted, making her raise her eyebrows as she took a seat next to me.
"Did the two of you use protection?" She asked and I thought long and hard, remembering Dominic pulled out a condom but never actually seeing him put it on. We were both too in the moment.
"No." I shook my head, knowing that was the exact reason for this.
"Well there you have it." She smiled small, grabbing my hand.
"Now you have to tell Dominic."
"Do you think the two of you are ready?" She asked and I smiled, looking down.
"Well I'm not really sure anymore." I admitted, considering Dom had changed over the course of this entire month. I'd thought his passive behavior would come to an end after a day or two but it'd seemed to become permanent.
He was going out alot with his friends and Deja, I didn't see him as much as I used to and we only talked sometimes. We were still in a relationship but it really didn't feel like one anymore.
He was an entire different person to me now.
"Why, whats wrong?" My mother went onto ask and I simply shook my head, followed by a sigh.
"Nothing. Just something with us right now, we'll get over it." I waved her off and she simply nodded, not getting into our business too much.
"Alright." She nodded, standing to her feet.
"I'll give you you're space, I know you can't wait to run and tell him." She smiled small as I half smiled, looking down at my hands.
"Let me know how it goes." She went on, before leaving out of my room completely.
Sitting there, I began to pick my brain for how I was going to actually explain to him that I was pregnant. I knew it all started with simply calling but I was nervous to. He rarely answered my calls these days and I wasn't in the mood to be hurt. Especially with these obvious new hormones.
Sighing deeply, I reached over toward the top of my bed and grabbed my phone. I unlocked it and began to scroll to Dominic's contact before my phone buzzed with a message from him.
Excitedly, I opened the message, just happy that I was even on his mind these days. But my happiness was quickly snatched away from me once I read what the message said.
"We should talk, T."

Dominic
"Nigga get the fuck off my car!" I watched as Dej snapped at Zay, making him hop off the hood of her car.
"Now, look at my ruff. Look at my ruff." She went on, making everybody laugh as I shoved my phone back into my pocket.
"Yo, Dom. Come get your homie before I end his life." She said to me as I took a pull from my blunt.
"Y'all niggas crazy." I shook my head, blowing smoke from my nose.
I watched as them niggas continued to bullshit all up and down the block before my phone buzzed in my pocket.
"About what?" T responded and I sighed deeply, tryna get my words together.
I really didn't want to break her heart but shit just wasn't feeling right no more.
Life without her was becoming more peaceful for me.
I was tired of apologizing for shit, I was tired of arguing, I was tired of being half loved and I damn sure was tired of her moms being the third person in our relationship.
None of this shit was sitting right with me no more.
"Yo, lover boy. Put your phone down and come fuck with us." Dej interrupted as she got in her car and Zay and Leek got in the backseat.
"Where y'all bout' to go'?" I asked, slowly standing to my feet.
"Unc block, nigga." She said before she quickly pulled off, speeding down the block.
Disregarding the text message, I slid my phone back into my pocket and made my way down the staircase.
"Shit." I stressed, putting my blunt out and grabbing my keys.
It didn't take me no time to get there and once I did, the block was packed.
"Aye, nigga!" Dej called out for me as I parked, slowly getting out of the car.
"Oh shit. What's up, Dom?" One of the homies spoke as I walked up, dabbing him up.
"Ain't shit. What's up with you?"
"Man, I been chillin'. Aint seen you in a minute." He went on.
We chilled and talked outside for a long time and I couldn't lie, this was the most peace I'd had in a minute. Just spending time with the homies and doing my own thing.
"Aye, look." Leek spoke up, making everybody look.
"Aw shit.." Everybody laughed as a group of bitches came walking down the block and I already knew exactly who it was.
"There go your girl." Dej spoke up, hitting my arm, making me smack my lips.
"Yeah, aight." I scoffed, shaking my head.
I watched as the bitches walked up to us and of course they started doing what they do but I ain't pay it no mind. I wasn't in the mood for this shit.
"Oh, so you can't speak?" The bitch, Diamond said to me, rolling her neck.
"I'm chillin' ma." I smirked, watching as she tooted her lips up.
"Whatever, you know you're happy to see me."
"And you better be lucky your brother is cute and worth it." She went onto say to Dej and Dej ain't do shit but laugh. She'd beat the breaks off this bitch but I guess the girl was over it now.
"What are y'all about to do?" The girl ended up asking and everybody looked over to me.
"Man..I guess we bout' to slide to the crib." Dej ended up saying and I shrugged.
"Aight then, come on. We out."
*
"Fuck! Yes." The bitch Leek was fucking on the couch yelled out while I sat in the dining room, smoking a blunt.
"This nigga wild." Dej laughed while I chuckled to myself.
"I wish it was me." Diamond rolled her eyes as she sat at the other end of the table.
"It could be you, shawty. You just be bitchin'." Zay spoke up, making the other girl that was with them laugh.
"I ain't bitching. I just know who I want." She said, looking over to me, making me smirk.
"Damn, she on your ass, nigga."
"Whatchu want me for, ma?" I couldn't help but to ask as I blew smoke into the air.
"You know why I want you, Dom. But I guess you have a little girlfriend now so you're fronting on me."
"Oh shit." Dej and Zay instigated, making me smack my lips.
I couldn't do shit but laugh, grabbing my phone from my pocket since she'd just reminded me of T.
I saw that I had multiple messages from her, meaning she probably wanted to argue so I didn't even bother opening them, I just sent a message of my own.
Tiana
I laid up in my room, trying hard to figure out what it could be that Dominic wanted to talk about. He wasn't responding to my text or my calls, probably out somewhere while I was home, losing my mind.
"Tiana, are you okay?" My mom came into my room and asked, making me sit up.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"How'd Dominic take it?" She asked, coming in fully and taking a seat on the edge of my bed.
"He's busy right now so I haven't really gotten the chance to tell him. I think he'll be happy though since he was so upset about the last pregnancy scare." I explained and she nodded slowly.
"Okay." She nodded.
"Don't forget to tell me how it goes." She said again before she walked out and I could feel my phone vibrating under me.
I picked it up and saw that I had two messages from Dominic so I instantly became happy. I hadn't talked to him at all today so finally getting the chance to ease my mind from message he'd sent felt good.
Opening the messages, my heart instantly sunk reading them.
"Look, Tiana."
"I think we should break up."
