“I know I should have talked to you about it, but I—” I began, then fell silent, staring down at my feet.

There was no excuse.

All I could think about was graduating; I never considered how he felt.

“Dominic, I’m sorry.

I was selfish and only thought about myself, but please, if you give me another chance…” My voice faltered, my breathing uneven.
