Page 41 of Falling for A Lie
We walk in our normal formation, Finn stands to my left with Len connected to his arm, her blood-red mask hiding her identity, and to my right Miles stands with his arm hooked to Carl's, her silver mask covering her face as well.
My half-shell mask covers from my nose down my neck, the halter top leaving nothing to the imagination as my breasts are perfectly taped to prevent them from falling out and my leather shorts cut just below my ass leaving just enough to peek out. I'm here as The Nightingale, the leader of the Valkyrie. I'm not Soren tonight, I've got her safely locked away.
Paul looks at me with a tigerish grin spreading across his chapped lips, as he cuts the others quick glances before returning back to me “M’lady it's been a minute since we were blessed with your presence out here, you come to clean houseagain?” He asks mockingly, looking around us as others start to filter through and get set up in their necessary positions around us.
“You know I never come to lose Pauly, boy, now who do you have for me tonight?” I grin even though he can't see it, my eyes must give it away because he sucks in a sharp breath as he runs his dirty fingers through the ledgers looking for the right one. By the look on his face, he seems to have found what he was looking for as he brings those bloodshot eyes to mine again, handing me the three slips each with a name that makes my palm shake slightly.
‘Caden Cole, Radley Ashford & Creedenza Santiago’ Jesus-fucking-Christ. Just my luck.
I look up to Paul and consider backing out and asking for new opponents but I refuse to show weakness. So, I just simply nod my head once confirming that I accept what is sure to be a fucking cluster fuck of disasters.
I take a quick leave from Paul to find the fucking alcohol being served by a local sorority from AHU.
Thanking the Gods I don't necessarily believe in for the small mercies. As the tall pink-haired girl, practically trips over herself to serve me and the others, a look of pure fascination graces her overdone face as she pushes her fake tits out trying to gain the attention of the guys by my side gaining an obnoxious laugh from my sister, which earns her an elbow to the ribs from Miles.
“Fuck my life, no..” He grumbles practically dragging a still hunched over Carla.
“What's the matter? Not your type, pretty boy?” Lena giggles picking at a now blushing Miles as he shoots a quick look in my direction.
“No, it's not your sister.” he shoots me a quick wink, making me the one that's blushing now as I hurry up chugging my drink, tossing the empty cup into the trash can before pulling my mask back into its place before I continue forward.
We walk through the different shades of neon cars all decked out to the nines, but half of these are for show. The ones behind the wheel want to act like they know what they're doing and that usually ends up with someone getting hurt, or losing their money and fancy car.
We pass by three cars I've never seen here the couple times I've come, and the feeling of being watched has me snapping my head up to meet the curious eyes of Caden fucking Cole, where he stands with Radley and Reed as they all turn to see what caught his attention. Now like a deer being struck by the headlights of an oncoming car, I'm rooted in place tugging at my hand as I look up at a smiling Miles and Finn as they grip onto my hands and drag me away from the intense staring match. I could kiss them both at that moment.
“Cailleach-oidhche! Slow down.” Caden's voice comes up from behind me dousing me in Ice water as I turn slowly to look at the boy who was never really mine, the one I let havea piece of me the last time we were together. The same one that swore I was his and would never escape him .. Funny how I did just that because of him.
I turn around slowly, praying he doesn't recognize me with us being so close. The guys keep my hand in theirs in a death grip, as they speak before I even have a chance
“Got balls on you. Approaching our leader without an invitation, tell me pretty boy is it the drugs that fried your brain or have you always been fucking stupid?” Finn snarls at him, his canines shining from the lights that are flickering around us.
Caden goes to step up, but a hand to his chest has him stopping his advances as Drake stands beside him with Reed and Rad, “Don't do what I think you're going to. We cannot risk a war with the second biggest gang in Hazleton.”
Just my luck, Having all four men in the same place and they don't even know that I am me.
I elbow Finn, shooting a staggering glare in his direction, as I pray the sounds surrounding us and the slightly deeper octave makes my voice unrecognizable to these four.
We have one more day before we come face to face again at the fight Rad and I have to participate in.
“Look, we have a meeting in one day, save whatever it is you need from me until then. I'm not here for business but pleasure, like the pleasure of taking your money and your buddy's car he wagered tonight.”
The absolute look of confusion tells me that they didn't know that Reed had bet his car along with the eighty grand that they all bet. All eyes point to Reed as Rad's the one to speak up first, “ Why did you summon us?” His voice tinged with curiosity, and worry.
“Guess you'll find out Saturday, now let's go boys.” I chuckle, holding my hand out to Miles and Finn. Miles smirks, sliding his large hand into mine, sending a cocksure smile at the guys “Anything for you Little Mama.” He brings my hand to his mouth pressing a gentle kiss, and the touch sends shivers down my spine. “Let's get you ready to beat these pretty bastards, Queenie,” Finn adds with a grunt, intertwining our fingers together. Miles and Finn pull me behind them, leaving Scar's boys standing there confused and unease gracing their faces. Their mouths hanging open makes me chuckle softly to myself as we continue to distance ourselves. Good, they should be worried. Now time to win this money and that nice ass car that Reed is stupid to bet with.
The deafening roar of the engine reverberates in my ears as we eagerly position ourselves at the starting line. The pungent smell of gasoline hangs heavy in the air, mingling with the scent of burning rubber. A surge of adrenaline courses through my veins, making my heart race and my palms sweat with anticipation.
I look to my left and right meeting both Radley and Caden's gaze head-on. They're both smiling but a nervous energy givesthem a way. From what Miles discovered from Paul and the other attendees, this is their first-ever race.
The girl in the pinstripe skirt stands confidently before us, her radiant smile illuminating her stunning features. As she leisurely unties her vibrant red bikini top, a mischievous glint dances in her eyes, capturing my attention. With a flirtatious wink directed at me, she gracefully lifts the top over her head, revealing her flawless skin. My gaze instinctively drifts down to her breasts, captivated by their youthful perkiness and rounded shape. The sight of her rosy pink nipples adds a touch of allure to the scene. A smirk creeps across my face as I ponder the effect this display is having on the men beside me, anticipation building as we await her signal to proceed.

3 GO!
The smell of burning rubber flits through my window as I slam my foot onto the gas, propelling my purple Honda NSX forward at breakneck speed the front of Rad's Honda Civic inches forward trying to pass me as we leave Caden behind us.
