Page 94 of Fallen: Darkness Ascending, Vol.1
“ H ello darkness.” The deep raspy voice pulled Delphine from the darkness.
Opening her eyes to a dark room with a candle flickering in the corner, Delphine’s mind raced.
Sitting up, Delphine shook her head. Was this another dream within a dream?
Trying to let her eyes adjust to the darkness around her she could see a man sitting in the corner of the room.
Quickly crawling backwards away from the man Delphine started to kick out and scream as he raised his tall body from the chair. Tall and muscular, he was not Malphas. There were no
wings from his back and he was taller and broader. He was built like a man that could turn every head as he walked down the street. A drink of water in a hot oasis, a temptation that was needed.
“Please, I have been through enough. No more. I can’t.
” Delphine could feel the tears building in her throat as her back collided with the head board.
She was broken and just wanted to rest. No point in fighting, it was time to beg as she tried to look around the room.
Looking back to the foot of the bed as the man loomed there.
“Darkness, you have nothing to fear. Sadly you’re stuck with me for all eternity.
Malphas is gone and doing his penance for what he did to you.
You, my love, are now married to me. Welcome home my queen, it’s time that Hell had a true leader.
” Snapping his fingers, lights began to slowly flicker on throughout the room.
