A ll the food went quickly between small talk.
The conversations moved from how good the food tasted, what she did that day, to how tomorrow looked for her, even what she thought all the food needed.
Delphine was happy to find another foodie who would talk about seasoning, but she wanted Malphas to just open up a little and not let her talk so much.
At least it was time for the cake. The slice that she had been staring at all night.
Grabbing the plate and dragging it towards her seat Delphine looked up at Malphas shyly smiling. “Please say it’s time for desert and then time for us? I am still hungry and horny, and you are looking almost as good as this slice does.”
Waving his hand for her to continue eating Malphas watched Delphine grab fork full after fork full of the decant desert.
The lights were flickering and changing as she ate.
The wine must be taking effect, even within the dream because the room started to tilt as she finished another bite of this fabulous desert.
The fork clattered from her hands, as the feeling of the room continued to change and the spinning over took.
This feeling felt like when she injected the morphine straight into her blood stream.
Stammering Delphine could barely keep her head up as she slunk down into the chair, goblets tumbling off the table splashing red wine down her legs. “What’s happening? I feel off. Something isn’t right.”
Raising from his chair Malphas walked over to Delphine.
Crouching down in-front of her in her chair as he slowly pulled her into a sitting position by sliding his arms under her and lifting her up.
“Just a small dose of drugs to put you to sleep. It’s a special night and you, my little lamb, are literally going to be my sacrifice.
It’s a special night because this is your last. Let go and when you wake up we will start. ”
Delphine's eyes shut to the waves of dizziness, as she felt Malphas lay her down on the bed. She could still hear him talking to himself as he clattered around the room. The feelings of chains wrapping around her wrists and ankles broke through the haze before the darkness took over.
Waking up some time later, Delphine blinked her eyes wearily.
She felt hung over as the haze of what was happening slowly lifted.
Raising her arms to wipe her eyes, Delphine felt resistance of the chains holding her to the bed.
This wasn’t a dream within a dream. It was actually happening to her!
Thrashing her head on the bed to look around, Malphas came into her sight.
A grin covered his face that made her want to cry.
It looked manic, how had she not seen this before now?
And to think, she had even made that stupid toast at dinner earlier for him saying he had no “red flags”.
Tears slipped from the sides of her eyes as she looked at Malphas as straight on as she could without fear.
“Glad you could finally join the living, little lamb. I thought I had given this away multiple times over the last few weeks as I prepped and planned this. But you were so na?ve. I even tried to semi warn you with your cute little pet name that I gave you. Oh well, it’s time, let’s get you off to your eternal sleep. ”
Malphas pulled a stick of sage out from under the bed with matches.
The flick of his wrist was quick and efficient as the flame took hold to the match and then the sage.
The smoke lifted from the stick to trace patterns in the air as Delphine breathed the smells in.
Chained to the bed and knowing she was doomed, the smell was the only thing keeping her from panicking.
The smell brought back memories of her childhood and listening to her grandmother talk about how to cleanse a space.
Her mind was racing with the fear of what was to come.
He did promise a night of pleasure, but to be a sacrifice was more than she bargained for and the last three months whirled through her mind.
Where had she missed the warning signs and red flags?
Where had this turned from a good wet dream to the end of her life?
She had too much left to do in the human world to be used by Malphas.
Pulling at the cold chains that still hadn’t heated to her skin, the clink of movement echoed in the room.
Malphas stood at the end of the bed and looked down at her naked body as he chanted and waved the sage around.
The wax was still stuck to her as she laid there bare to the world.
Finishing his chants Malphas put the sage out in a bucket of sand and kneeled in between her legs.
The candle flames threw shadows along his face making it elongate into the things of nightmares.
He was the creepy handsome of serial killers, not the good fuck she had over the past three months.
