It was a simple fix

well then I guess I’m just really bad at tech things T_T

I find my hands hovering over the keyboard. I want to comfort her. Tell her she’s not bad, that the only reason why I know how to do anything technology-related is because I literally have no life and that’s the last thing I’d want for her.

But all of that feels far too vulnerable. I don’t talk to omegas. Omegas don’t talk to me. They’re only interested in alphas like the other three in my pack: confident, jacked, and dominant.

But this omega is talking to me.

Only because I helped her get her wifi up. I can’t be stupid. If she knew me, knew what I looked like, knew what people say about me whenever I leave the house, she’d never talk to me again.

I swallow hard.

I scrub a hand down my face. God, I’m tired. But I’ve still got work to do. I spent all night doing research on The Warehouse, its connection to The Dollhouse, and their roles and connection to other players in the omega trafficking space. Both The Warehouse and The Dollhouse are run by the same family, which explains their similar names.

I still have to give Killian my report.

I push back my chair and it rolls on the smooth hardwood before I stand. I open the door from my room and head down the hall to Killian’s office.

God, it’s bright.

I keep all my blackout curtains drawn during the day, and I’m normally asleep right now, so I’m not used to the morning sun shining like this.

I knock on Killian’s door.

“Come in,” he answers. He glances up at me when I come in. “Morning, Milo.”

“Morning,” I yawn. “I have the finished report for you,” I say, nodding to his computer. “I sent it to you for you to read through when you’ve got a chance.”
