Page 236 of Claiming the Pack's Omega
Killian
I’m barely able to pay attention to Stone and the Ward Pack’s instructions. I don’t give a shit about putting on a bullet proof vest or figuring out everyone’s positions.
I know where Reyna is.
And I want to go to her. Ineedto go to her.
“Any questions?” Archer, the Ward Pack’s pack leader asks us.
No one say anything. Please, no one fucking say anything so we can go in.
Despite the size of our group, which includes a combination of the Ward Pack’s security as well as the Riverwell police force, everyone remains silent.
“Let’s go,” Archer nods.
He doesn’t need to say anything more before all of us move.
Doors are kicked down, shots are fired, guards are incapacitated. It’s all a blur as Stone, Theo, Milo and I all start clearing rooms.
We’re met with room after room, hallway after hallway of guards, scientists or pseudo-medical professionals dressed in white lab coats, and terrified, wide-eyed omegas.
But none of them areouromega.
The implications of what we’re finding here linger at the back of my mind. This kind of operation, even though it’s located on the very outskirts of the Southside, was undeniably funded by someone, or some entity from the Northside. This place was built for the purpose of keeping captive omegas.
We reach a door at the end of the hallway and Stone kicks it in, like all the rest. He raises his gun, scanning the room.
The three of us wait for the all clear, but it doesn’t come.
That’s when I’m hit with a wave of Reyna’s scent. It’s thick with her terror and fear, like a swirling lightning storm. Then there’s the scent of blood.
It’s overpowering.
I shove past a frozen Stone to try and see our omega when I’m tackled. Small arms wrap around both Stone and I and I hear the sound of a gun clattering to the floor beneath us.
I curl my arms around Reyna and Stone and I catch her as her legs give out.
“Are you okay?” Stone yells, alarmed.
“I—I’m okay,” She gasps, her chest heaving with sobs. “The—the blood—it—it isn’t mine.”
Fuck. Her teeth are chattering. She’s going into shock.
Understandable, considering the two dead bodies and the shocking amount of blood in this room.
The entire room is covered in it. So is Reyna. She’s left bloody footprints along the floor, from where she was hiding behind a collapsed gurney.
“You—you came,” she gasps, her chest heaving with sobs.
“Of course we did, Princess,” I growl, trying my best to keep my dominance in check. The last thing I want to do is traumatize her further.
Milo and Theo come up around us and we all huddle around Reyna. I’m pretty sure all of our alpha instincts are screaming at us to soothe our omega.
“You’reours,” Theo says, swallowing hard. “We would’ve run to the ends of the Earth to find you.”
“We never stopped looking,” Milo murmurs.
Our attempt at comforting her just makes her sob even harder.
