Page 199 of Claiming the Pack's Omega
All four of us immediately start growling. The noise is deep and instinctual, and it comes out before I can stop it. My hand flexes as it spans across her waist. It takes all the control I have not to tear off those little sleep shorts and bury myself between her thighs.
The involuntary noises that leave our throats only seem to make the situation worse, because Reyna lets out a soft whimper in return.
"Fuck, you guys are driving me crazy," she pants out.
"We have to get to the nest," Killian growls, nodding at me.
I lift Reyna into my arms easily.
"A nest? I didn't know you had one of those," she says, her head resting against my shoulder.
"Most Northside homes come with them," I murmur, running my nose along her neck.
Her perfume is so strong, I'm sure we're leaving a trail along the hallway and up the small staircase that leads to the nest in our attic.
"It's pretty basic, for now," Stone says, his brows drawn down with concern as he stands at the door at the top of the staircase.
"Basic is fine," Reyna laughs. "All I need is you four."
Her smile twists into a grimace before she lets out a whimper of pain.
"Fuck, that hurts," she gasps. "Is it supposed to hurt this bad?"
I turn back and glance at Killian as we share the same worried expressions. Omegas’ heats can sometimes cause pain if they've been denied an alpha's knot for too long, but Reyna's heat has just started. Even though Charlotte prescribed her medicine that should've helped with her suppressant usage, Reyna probably hasn't been on them long enough for them to fix everything.
"No, Princess, it's not supposed to hurt like this," Killian says, his voice low but steady. "But we'll take care of you, we promise."
"Take care of me, huh?" She says, flashing a teasing smile at him. "Lucky me."
Stone opens the door, revealing the cozy nest with a low A-frame ceiling and plush cushion floors. Scattered about the room are stacks and stacks of various soft blankets and pillows. While some of them came with the original furnishing package from when we were getting the house furnished, a lot of it has been purchased online since I first met her.
It started with a single blanket or throw pillow after I would see her those Saturday nights and ballooned into... well, the chaos that fills this room. It wasn't like I spent my disposable income on much else, anyway.
"Oh, well, I guess it's not that basic anymore," Stone chuckles. "It's been a while since I've been up here, I guess."
"If there's anything you don't like, just let me know," I say, setting her down on her feet. "I know it's a bit crazy right now."
"You—you got me all this stuff?" she asks, her voice cracking with emotion.
My brain instantly goes into panic mode when she looks up at me with tears filling her eyes.
Fuck, fuck, fuck, I fucked up. Does she not like it? I should've consulted her. What in the world was I thinking? An omega's nest is her sacred kingdom, of course she'd want more feedback on what to have in here.
I reach out and cup her cheeks, unable to keep myself from touching her.
"I'm so sorry, Spitfire, I should've asked you before getting you this stuff, of course you'd want?—"
She shuts me up by throwing her arms around my shoulders and tugging me down until her lips are on mine. I can taste the hint of salt from her tears, which should've been a big enough red flag to pull away from the kiss and talk to her, but I don't. I fall into the kiss like I'm falling into a stormy ocean, swept away by the current of her heat hormones until I'm one with her.
She pulls me down until we're both on our knees, surrounded by the stacks of pillows and blankets.
When we finally manage to break apart from the kiss, tears are still falling down her cheeks.
I wipe them away with my thumbs, trying to rack my stupid, hormone-addled brain for something, anything, to say or do to get her tears to stop.
"Thank you," she says between her sniffles. "You have—you have no idea how much that means to me."
"Wh—huh?" I blink down at her in surprise. "I thought you were mad at me."
