His expression grows dark and his spicy pepper scent explodes out of him with his excitement.

My own confident smirk makes its appearance as I grip the hem of my tank top, slowly lifting it up over my head, giving Stone a little bit of a show. I like the way these guys look at me. I’ve never felt more powerful, in front of a man, than I do with them like this.

“Fucking hell,” he whispers, his voice hoarse.

This time, it’s my turn for my smirk to turn into a full on grin. I feel my pulse racing through my veins, especially when I do a little spin, showcasing my—pretty awesome, if I do say so myself—ass.

I’ve seen the way Stone looks at my legs, so hopefully he enjoys this show.

I glance over my shoulder at him and crook my finger, beckoning for him to join me as I head into his bathroom.

He lets out a soft huff as he immediately gets out of bed.

I lean my hands against the sink, watching him in the mirror as he follows behind me and presses his front to my back. His skin feels hot to the touch.

It makes me whirl around and press my hands against his chest so I can get a better look at his wounds. I haven’t taken off his bandages or checked his stitches yet today.

Fuck, I guess I really am scatter brained. I should’ve checked that before pushing us to take a shower together.

“I would say take me to dinner first, but I think that normally applies to clothes, not bandages.”

I roll my eyes as I start peeling away the bandages from each of his wounds, checking him for any signs of infection.

Flashes of the dirty, dingy, disgusting torture room Stone was strung up in flash on the backs of my eyelids every time I blink, like there’s a projector in my brain. I try and shake off the feelings that linger there and focus on my job.

“Hey,” Stone says, reaching out and stilling my almost frantic hands. “What’s going on in that head of yours, Wildflower? This is supposed to be fun.”

“You feel… you feel warm,” I say, noticing the way my breaths are coming in short almost panicked pants. “That’s a possible sign of infection. I need to make sure you’re alright because what if I fucked up? What if you need to go to the hospital? What if you’ve needed to go to the hospital, but I was too busy riding your face and preoccupied with myself to fucking notice!”

“Wouldn’t I feel some sign of infection? Some sort of fever? Pain? Something?”

My brows draw down and my tongue presses along the inside of my bottom lip.

“I mean, yeah, probably, but?—”

“I don’t feel any of those things, Reyna, I promise.” Stone’s tender tone and the use of my name, not the nickname he gave me, makes me pause enough to snap me out of my panic. At least a little bit. To be honest, I’m still pretty panicked.

“You don’t?”

“I don’t. I’m no doctor, but I’m pretty sure I’m warm because I’m a hot blooded alpha with the most gorgeous omega on the fucking planet, standing naked in front of me right now.”

I swallow hard and nod, my movements still a little jerky.

“Go ahead and see for yourself,” he murmurs softly. “I love the feel of your hands on me.”

“Even if they’re taking off bandages?” I huff.

“Yup,” he nods, saying the single syllable with a ridiculous amount of confidence.

I manage to remove all of the bandages and check all of his stiches. There’s one that looks a little angry. Not quite to the point of infection, but the color of the scab is slightly different than the others.

“I’ll keep an eye on this one,” I say, brushing my finger along his left rib, right below the incision. “But other than that, you’re looking surprisingly well.”

“What can I say,” he says, flexing his bicep. “I told you I was a fast healer.”

God, that thing is the size of my entire fucking thigh.

I stare at his muscular form unabashedly. He really is a gorgeous specimen.
