Page 122 of Claiming the Pack's Omega
“Perfect, if you’ll follow me, I’ll take you back to see the doctor.”
I freeze, glancing over my shoulder. Already? Alone?
Sure, this doctor’s office looks real pretty, but I’m not sure it’ll look that way when I get back there. Plus, do I really want to be alone with a man in an enclosed room in a building I know nothing about?
Killian glances up from his phone, his brows immediately drawing down when he reads the expression on my face. He stands from his seat on the sofa and comes over to me, brushing some of my dark hair away from my face.
“I think it would be best if you went in alone,” he says, answering my silent question.
“Are you sure?” I ask, swallowing hard in an attempt to clear the lump that’s formed in my throat.
“Yes, just in case there are things you want to remain confidential," he says.
He has a point, I guess. I’ve only known this man for a couple days. I honestly trust him the least out of all the guys in the Graylock Pack, but still. The omega in me is practically throwing a tantrum at the idea of heading in there alone.
I give a jerky nod and roll my shoulders back. No point in avoiding the inevitable.
“Right this way, Reyna,” Katrina says, holding the door open for me.
“I’ll be here waiting for you, Princess,” he calls after me, his voice surprisingly soft.
I offer Killian one small wave before the door shuts behind me.
“Oh my gosh, Killian Graylock?” Katrina says, fanning herself as she walks me down the hall. “He’s so handsome! You’re a lucky girl.”
“Yeah, he is pretty handsome,” I say, eyeing the decorations in this hallway that seem to match the waiting room.
Katrina takes my height and weight in the hallway, writing it down on my chart, before showing me to the exam room.
“Alright, I have you in exam room four, the doctor will be in with you shortly!”
I freeze when I take a step into the exam room. There’s a normal medical examination table, sink, and chair for thedoctor, but there’s also another plush-looking sofa with a fresh-smelling fuzzy blanket thrown across the back.
The walls and lighting are also all cozy. It’s nothing like what I imagined a sterile doctor’s examination room to look like.
What kind of place is this?
Maybe I should’ve asked Killian more questions.
I can’t help it. I make my way to the soft couch and pull the blanket onto my lap. I’ve fought my omega’s urges enough today, by leaving Killian in the waiting room and coming in here alone. I can afford her this small comfort.
There’s a knock at the door, sooner than I expected. My eyes go wide when I see the person who steps through the door.
I expected an alpha, maybe a beta, but definitely a man.
The person who smiles at me with a white lab coat and a nametag reading “Dr. Charlotte Rockwell” is the furthest thing from that.
“You’re an omega,” I breathe out, my voice quiet from shock.
“I am!” She says, taking a seat on the wheeled doctor’s stool and flashing a bright smile at me. “Please, call me Charlotte.”
She’s stunning, with her dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, and curvy frame. I can see the hint of bondmarks peeking out from under her lab coat. I also clock the fact that all the jewelry she’s wearing easily adds up to over twenty-five thousand dollars.
Her apple pie scent is sweet and fruity, the perfect kind of omega scent you’d expect from a Northside omega.
“I didn’t know there were omega doctors,” I say.
“Yeah, I’m technically the only one, though I know there are a few omegas in nursing and PA school right now!” She says. “You sound surprised, though. Did Killian not tell you?”
