Chapter 8
JORDY
Yep. I just did that. But surprisingly, Dani didn’t pull away, and I wasn’t going to be the first to do it. I was enjoying this way too damn much.
Way too much—did I say that already? Shit. I was getting hard.
Our lips pulled away from each other with a slight pop. We eyed each other without knowing what the other was thinking. I thought she might say something, but all she did was stand up, dust off the sand, and reach her hand out to help me up.
Dani and I had been in plenty of close spaces; hell, we’d accidentally spent the night at each other’s apartments after watching horrible reality T.V. together. Not once did it ever cross my mind to kiss her. She started to walk ahead of me and I forgot how to even move my feet.
Dani’s head swiveled to the side. “You coming?” she called.
The dirty little monster in my head said, “Yeah, I’d really like to come,” but I knew that she didn’t mean it in that way. Also, I wasn’t a child—at least, most days I wasn’t.
“What's next?” I called after her.
“Mmm. I think it's corn-hole?”
Great. I was the worst at corn-hole. Every time I’d aim for the hole, I’d miss—which is exactly why I was the receiver, not the quarterback. I could catch a ball from every angle, but throwing it… there was no way.
“Looks like we’re playing against your sister,” Dani pointed out to me. Sure enough, there stood Lenna and Conrad with Shyloh and Becca.
“Hey you cuties!” Dani called out to Becca and Lenna, running to hug them. They all smiled and hugged each other while Shy and Conrad chatted away, holding their cold beers.
Shy greeted me with outstretched arms. “Aw. You didn’t want to run into my arms too?”
I rolled my eyes. “No, I’d rather not. What are y’all chatting about over here?” I asked, grabbing the beer Conrad offered to me.
“Oh, not much. Just the fact that everyone saw you making out with Dani on the beach. No big deal,” Conrad teased, giving a side glance to Shyloh, who laughed in response.
“Yeah… about that.”
“No—we loved it. Matter of fact, it almost seemed like you’ve done it before. How long has this been going on?” Conrad asked, furthering the discussion way past my comfort zone. I didn’t want to make up something and not be on the same page as Dani.
“Um, like a few weeks. Nothing too long.”
Did I say that confidently? It didn’t feel like it; I felt like they could see straight through me and my lies.
A warm hand pressed into my sides and I looked down, being graced with Dani’s face. “What are you kids up to over here?” she asked, looking to me then the guys.
Shy responded, “Not much. Jordy was just telling us that you’ve been macking on each other for a few weeks now. What took you two so long?”
What took us so long? For what?
“Jordy was really persistent and charming, as always. I couldn’t help myself anymore.” She reached up, pinching my cheek.
Ow—that fucking hurt.
“And when he was on his knees begging me to have se—”
“Okay, that’s enough of that story!” I cut in. Dani had the audacity to look up at me and smirk. This little heathen thought she was going make me look like I begged her to be my date? Well actually, I did, and I most definitely broke her no tongue rule. I hated these rules; why did we need rules if we were just going to keep breaking them?
“So, who are we playing against?” I asked.
Shy stepped forward. “Me.”
I groaned out of annoyance, knowing he was about to kick our asses in this game.
***
Shyloh and Becca kicked our asses. We looked like absolute garbage playing against them. Obviously, corn-hole just wasn’t our sport.
“Alright everyone, our last event is Chicken Fight—everyone head to the pool!” Shy announced and we all followed.
Dani and I watched the first few couples go, discussing our strategies on winning. “Don’t let go, whatever happens,” I insisted.
She gave me an annoyed glance. “This isn’t the Titanic, Jordy. We’ll be fine.”
I hated it when she was right, but I didn’t enjoy losing. I mean, I knew that no one did, but I loathed it. I hated losing so fucking much that thinking about it made me start to hyperventilate.
“Ready?” Dani asked. I nodded, jumping into the pool after her. When we emerged from the water, we were eye to eye with our competitors… Elena and John.
“Don’t worry, I can snap her like a twig,” Dani boasted, pushing me towards the shallow end of the pool. She shoved me down into the water and climbed onto my shoulders, her legs wrapping around me. I stood and she reached down and moved my hair out of my eyes. “Thanks,” I muttered into her knee.
“Thank me later after we crush them."
Hell yeah. Feisty Dani was my favorite. “You got it mama.”
A pop on the head was all I needed to straighten up, knowing I was continuously breaking her rules. But making her mad was one of my favorite past times—it had always been. She leaned over until she was eye to eye with me and gripped my cheeks. “Whatever happens, don’t let go of my legs,” she demanded.
I gave her a kiss face before she straightened her spine and wiggled against me. Wait…oh my God. Her pussy was literally inches from my face; why was I just now realizing this and why was I freaking out?
“On your mark, get set, fight !”
It was too late to think about her wet vagina. We needed to beat them—quickly, before my dick emerged from my swim trunks.
Dani gripped Elena’s hands, pushing and shoving while I stayed eye level with John. I heard the grunting battle between the two women and the cheers from the side of the pool. Lenna yelled, “Fuck her up, Dani!”
I tried not to laugh, but these women took things too seriously. Except if we lost, that would mean not only did this woman cheat on me, but she and her new boyfriend were also better than us. That could not—I repeat— could not happen.
I squeezed Dani’s legs tighter as I cheered her on. “You got it, Dani. Keep going! You’re almost there.”
