Page 19 of Brutal Little Secrets
Her eyes meet mine and hold them, but her lips remain closed. I tip my head to the side. I expected a protest or not for another two weeks. But she doesn’t say no. Who knows how many planning sessions we’ll have before this all ends. This might be the only one. But if I get her on my dick, I’ll make sure there are more.
“How are we moving forward with this?” she asks.
Cam moves his hand back to her thigh and meets my gaze. Hawk looks at me too. This is my revenge plot after all. But I know this part won’t sit well with either of them.
“He wants her back.” My gaze locks on Evan’s. We’ve talked and she knows what she needs to do.
“Fuck, no.” Hawk stands and runs his hand through his hair. “You didn’t see where he left her. He threatened her. If he gets her alone, next time she might not be able to get away. I’m not risking her.”
“Who in their right mind goes back to a guy like that?” Cam shakes his head and wraps his arm around her waist, holding her tight against him. Like he can save her now. “He can’t honestly believe she’d go back to him.”
Evan’s voice is calm when she says, “Why didn’t you tell your dad Chase was the one who caused your accident?”
“People like us get away with shit like this.” I lean forward with my elbows on my knees. “Chase might have received a fine and maybe a sentence that would have been commuted at best. He wouldn’t really pay at all. If we’d told the authorities who we saw, we wouldn’t be able to go after him. People would know it’s us. He may know it’s us, but the motive wouldn’t be there. Not without him admitting guilt.”
“Why don’t you tell your dad?”
I chuckle. “He’d make it go away too. That’s his business partner’s son. He wouldn’t let me exact my vengeance.”
“I think Chase knows it’s you he hit.” Evan’s voice is soft.
I nod. “Probably. But he also thinks I don’t know it was him.”
Evan absorbs that and takes a deep breath. “What do you want me to do?”
“Damon, she can’t go back to that asshole.” Hawk steps forward like he can stop any of this. The time to stop it would have been before we ever went after Evan. Now we’re in too deep, and Chase hasn’t paid nearly enough. I want him ruined.
“I play him the way he’s been playing me.” Evan’s stormy eyes turn hard as she nods at me. She might want revenge for herself. Did he even crack the surface with Evan? I thought it was odd he was with her. But now that I have her, I understand the appeal.
Not the fucking around bit, but the need to keep her.
“I’m not saying she agrees to be his girlfriend again.” I rub the corner of my mouth and meet Evan’s eyes. “But if he wants her, he can work for it. She can make his life hell with the hope he can win her back.”
“He can’t get her alone again.” Hawk sits on the edge of the couch and looks at Evan. “You need to go somewhere. You go with one of us. He doesn’t get you.”
Evan reaches over and takes his hand, squeezing it. “I don’t want to go anywhere with him alone.”
“She’ll give him rules,” I say.
Evan arches an eyebrow my way, and I smile.
“If he wants you back so badly, he can pay the price. You’ll talk to him at the party and then you’ll come home with us.”
“What if he wants to go somewhere else to talk?” Evan asks.
“Absolutely not.” I need her in my sights at all times. Hawk’s right about that. He doesn’t get her alone anymore. Ever.
“Are you going to tell everyone I’m living with you?” Evan leans back against Cam. She hasn’t closed her legs even though Cam isn’t touching her. She’s showing me her panties. Later I’mgoing to rip those panties off her and make her scream with pleasure.
“Do you want me to?” I lift my gaze to hers.
“Not yet.” She shakes her head and stands. Cam helps her.
“It’s going to come out eventually, little devil. You can’t hide forever.”
“But not yet.” Her face is determined as she paces between us.
With Olivia circling me, it’s best for Evan to remain our secret. If Olivia even considers something is happening between me and Evan, she might blow everything up. But just because Evan lives with me doesn’t mean anything is happening.
