"You’re not leaving," I replied.

"Liam, don't be crazy. I can't stay here. Last night was..."

"You tasted like fucking sin, Nova. You liked scratching me and having me call you a dirty girl," I whispered coming in closer.

My mouth hovered above her own and threatened to kiss her hard. Hell, I was already getting erect again. It was something about her that could get me there in an instant.

"Maybe I should taste you next," she whispered. "Maybe you taste like fucking sin."

That was all it took. My mouth crashed into her and my hand went up under the shirt. I didn't give a shit about how slick her body was with sweat from the work out. The waist band of the sports bra was in the way but finally gave enough so that I could cup her breast. Without hesitation, her nipples were hard for me as I pinched and rolled them between my fingers.

Nova's hands had found their way inside of my pants, and she was gripping me. Her thumb brushing over the tip of my cock. She gripped me tight, causing my breath to hitch in my throat. I could almost stay this way forever.

Duty, of course, called. I couldn’t spend the day the way I'd like to. I needed to meet with my uncle. I brought my hand up to touch Nova's cheek.

"I have business to attend to, Little Thief, but I will be back around dinner time," I say.

She stared up at me, her hand’s still massaging me. "I won't be here."

"Nova, you will. Don't leave this house. I'm placing a guard on detail for you and your siblings." I shushed her next few words with my own.

"You can't just do this," she protested.

I smirk. "I can...and I have. I'll see you at dinner."

"What am I supposed to do while you're gone?" she called after me.

I turned and started walking backwards and gestured with my arms open wide, "I'm sure you'll come up with something."

Nova rolled her eyes at me and crossed her arms in front of her. I could see how annoyed she was and I turned around continuing on towards the garage. Five of my cars were housed here. I decided on the smaller BMW to drive and slipped in behind the wheel. I texted to have a guard put on the house to watch Nova and the kids. My instructions were pretty specific about making sure that they were to stay in the house and not leave the grounds for any reasons.

Driving through traffic to the other side of town, I reached the warehouse where we conduct official Bratva business. Before I exit, I reach under the seat to pull out a Glock 9 mm that I always leave there for just in case of emergencies.

Upon getting out of the BMW, I noticed that Valentin’s car was parked along with a few other cars I didn’t recognize. I drew in the deepest breath and tucked the gun on my person. I could hear chatter from inside I neared the metal doors..

A feeling settled in the pit of my stomach and I was unsure why. There was a small window I had built into the warehouse on the left side. It had been done it as a safety precaution and the only other person who knew it was there was Val.

I peered through and found my cousin siting in a chair, blood running all down his face while five men stand with guns pointed and waiting at the door. My uncle was nowhere in sight. The adrenaline had already started to kick in. Something else they didn’t know about the warehouse is that Val and I had hidden weapons all around the place and I was going to blow every last man to kingdom come for daring to touch my family.

My mind began to race. I could walk in and potentially get shot and lose my life. Or I could come up with another plan on entering this building. I excepted the fact that I was about to have a full-blown shoot out, and I counted myself down before entering into the warehouse. The gun maneuvered into my hand as I whipped it out and pulled the slide out. Pushing open the door, a cold wind glided over my skin and just like that, I started shooting.

Everything is a complete blur, but I'm focused.

Surprise was on my side because two of the gun men never saw me coming and I took them out first.

There were a few metal containers near the door and I dive behind them to avoid the fire power that rained down in my direction. It began to smell like the Fourth of July as they emptied clip after clip in my direction. I had only hoped they hadn't killed Val.

"I think we got him," I heard one of the men say.

A cold smirk appeared on my face as I once again counted myself down. A full minute had passed since I'd walked through the steel doors, shooting.

I stood up, my hands shaking from adrenaline, and fired off three more shots. In that time, I noticed that Valentin had tipped his chair backwards and was out of harm’s way.

I fired another three times exactly and hit each of my targets, killing two. One, I just aimed and hit him in the shoulder. It was enough to get him to drop his weapon.

"Send a message to my uncle," I leaned over him. "I'm fucking coming for him. He has overstepped the Bratva and he will pay with his life."

I untied Val, and we looked at each other. We had known for a while now, since my father was gone, that my uncle was going to become a huge problem. My father had kept Viktor in check like the mad dog he was. But now, he had to be put down.
